Pro-4 lighter, comes with a one-way, think it comes a little more tuneable too

TC4.. i have one, and for the money i like it, and i plan on running it outdoors for the summer, wanted the tub for that.

Friend has a pro4 and I know he has had small issues getting parts for it. (waiting weeks for a bad shock cap that came in the kit, and then waiting for ball-diff parts for the front)

A couple of us here had PRO4s and just could not get the car to drive the way we wanted to. We then switched to the TC4 and WOW what a difference. The car responds so well to small changes, where as the PRO4 in my opinion did not. You will not be dissapointed with either car. But in my opinion after having both I vote for the TC4.

Default The graphite arms are more brittle.

As soon as I can get rid of all the plaastic arms I have, I'll go back to them.

At one time, I was breaking arms left and right.

My car is handling now and I'm not hitting things as much. Plus my hobby store has lots of the old ones that I don't want. Waiting for turnover, since AE didn't mark them as version IIs. It may be awhile since the TC4 is not popluar in my area.

Fair enough

Just to let you know however if you are still experiencing any laziness in the handling it could be down to the plastic arms. They are ironically the only thing I have bothered changing to graphite

Still intrigued by this arm breaking thing. Maybe its something to do with US track markings or something? I've seen probably about 30-40 TC4's race in the past couple of months by people of all levels of ability and the only broken arm I have seen was when a complete newbie put his 19T TC4 full speed into the wall. In the process also destroying a caster block, cracking a wheel, bending the hinge pin and turnbuckle and ripping apart an outdrive (yes it was a massive crash ) other than that I haven't seen any arms broken at all.

Default Well...

AE should switch over to their NTC3 bumper in the TC4 kits.

Andy m...
There is one bad spot on our track that eats cars for dinner.

It's nice when your car feels like it's on rails. Now, I wish I could get the same great steering on and off power. Anyone know how to get that?

Now does the battery mod weaken the chassis? Anyone know off hand what page it's on? I'm lazy.

putting the Pro 4 arms on their TC4? Just wondering if it could be done and what it would do.

I added a bumper and haven't broken any arms since. Now however when I do crash (still learning to drive) with the front end not absorbing the impact by breaking... Well, I broke 2 rear hub carriers, and destroyed the bearings, in one evening.

My bumper...

RPM NTC3 wide bumper, grommets I picked up from radio shack (just a small package they sell comes with assorted sizes), which I cut the lip off one side... ][\_cut that top edge off all the way around. The grommet was a decent fit in the bumper, but the inside diameter was too large to mount onto the plastic bumper already on the car. I took some fuel tubing, heated it stretched it over the small posts and then was a nice tight fit. Use stock screws.

I bought a bumper from an HPI nitro car, real dense foam. Cut to fit.

the stock ntc3 bumper comes with the grommets, I had a few from my ntc3 so I lucked out.

Default Question...

Can anyone here tell a differnce in handling by moving the motor out? I'm thinking of going to a 100 tooth spur in 64 pitch. I need to get my TC4 on a 4 wheel scale to balance it. Does balancing the car and balancing the wheels (stock foams) help at all?

It helps balance the car, left to right.

An MIP Tweak Station does what it's name implies, adjusts the tweak. It has absolutely no effect on the balance left to right or front to back. Weight has to be added, removed, or moved to change the balance. A standard TC4 is about .5 ounces heavy left with a mod motor and about 1 ounce heavy left with a stock motor. By using larger gears (but still the same ratio) you will move the motor slightly further to the right, helping balance the car.
