Thanks for the tip.

HI Ray, yes, you are right, those two marks are caused by the diff balls on the diff ring and the other ring mark on the outdrive (plastic one) is caused by the face of the diff gear being too thick and it just rubs against the face of the outdrive when loosened 1/2 turn as per manual. Attached below is the illustration of what exactly to take out and which part causes friction. AE knows this problem and they have a new batch of diff gears that came out but I still grind my diff gear to make my diff smoother

Are the new gears not as thick?! The car accelerates normal and everything it just sounds bad. One more question, but away from diff's. When im going through like a sweeper or any turn for that matter, the car is scrubbing speed badly. I can hear the motor just kinda losi RPM's and its killing me on corner speed. Me and my buddies cars are both doing it. Any ideas on setup on how to correct this?

That has to do with the diffs, if the front diff is tight it will make the car understeer badly (like a spool) so you are having to use more steering lock than otherwise would be needed which is making your car scrub speed

So i need to run my front diff looser? Or both diffs? I thought on carpet you wanted the diff pretty tight...i may be wrong though. That happens alot

You do want the diffs pretty tight for the front and about medium for the rear on carpet. It sounds like you have to much rear traction. Car is pushing correct? If this is correct then you need to stiffen up the rear. If it is not pushing then you may want to try some different tires. If you are running plaids and purples switch to Cyans and Magentas. This got my car to rotate much better and pick up some serious time.

Hope this helps,

It does push and the rear end does "stick" too much. Im running purple springs on the rear, and going to try yellows and mess with swaybars this weekend. But I will try to get my diffs set up right. Thanks for the help guys...by the way i got away from purp and plaids, DOUBLE PINK AND DBL PINK/ORANGE on carpet from here on out!

Sway bars will help. What up Ray? Can't wait to hear some more results on the BMI Chassis.

Later,

Did you guys see a big difference when switching to the graphite chassis? Seems the car flexes alot, I think the BMI top plate would be a REALLY good solution

Default runingrc10...

Are you running stock? Make sure your adj. is set at zero and you don't have any drag brake set on your seed control. It may be one thing to look into.

Default Sorry it's the TH ATV.

Make sure it's at zero drag. Set it so the car just starts to move.

Have you tried thread lock on the lock nut yet? this tends to help if you have a diff that wants to keep come loose
