So far I am very impressed with everything about the TC4. I had been running a BMI PRO 4 and a BMI Xray. The TC4 right out of the box with no graphite seems to be a much more stable and consistant car. Once I get some more time in on it should be up there with the other two.

To me the steering seems very smooth and responsive. I am actually having to dial out steering in my radio for once.

As for slop in suspension RPM ballcups seem to really help eliminate alot of this problem. Shimming the steering was easy as stated a few posts up. Pretty good know.

I can't wait to get a few sets of Losi's new shocks. I'll bet there nice, smooth and easy to build. I'm glad they are a neutral color.
Try using Tamiya shock bladders or diaphragm. They will make your shocks very consistent on the rebound side. I've been using that and very pleased with it. I hope this tip of mine helps

Default Anyone know where...

you can get Ti input shafts for the TC4? Other than Ti Racing ones. I'm told there bad, won't get them. I'm not interested in the aluminum ones.

I just use the IRS aluminum shafts. Maybe Square makes titanium input shafts.

What rollout are most of you starting with for stock and/or 19 turn. Foam tires carpet.

Default Barry Baker

Hey guys,
I was very supried this morning. I went to my local track here in Michigan (Larry's Performance RC's) this morning and to my suprize, Barry Baker was there working on his car in the pits. I didn't talk with him but in talking with other racers at my club who do know him and race with him said that Associated has heard that many are complaining about the TC4. So Associated sent Barry down to the track to do some testing (and show people how to drive! ).

It's really good to see a company stand behind their product like that. I was very impressed. I might have to switch back to Associated!!

Default Rollout

I've been using a rollout of about .972" (24.71 mm) with a monster stock on a medium-sized carpet track w/foam tires. (Mike's Hobby Shop, Dallas)

I'm not sure that it's optimal, but it's not bad.

koabich,

I suppose it's not bad that Associated sent Barry to test some stuff... but I'm not sure when/if we'll benefit from that research.

Associated has been pretty lax in getting setup information out for the TC4. If you look on their web site you'll find they still haven't officially published any setups for the car.... not even the blank setup sheet.

Yeah, I know that Phalen and Lufaso and others have posted some setup information... and they deserve props for sharing with the rest of us... but I get the feeling they take the time to share this info 'cause they're nice guys... not because Associated asked them to. And if I didn't read this particular forum... I might not know about those guys...

I'd like to see Associated officially publish good starting setups for carpet and asphalt to aid rookie/intermediate racers.

I think Associated are currently collating data to come up with the basic setups. They are just trying to get it right before they release it. Remember the TC4 has far more settings than the TC3 so it will take longer to develop definitive setups.

Probably not hugely useful for you guys over there but CML Distribution have just published Olly Jefferies setup from a carpet race last weekend which he won be a country mile.

Last time I checked Olly had just stuck his TC4 into joint 5th place at the World Champs with a 1st, 2nd, 1st from the first 3 races.
