I would start with the stock setup with less toe-in for the rear and tune from there. If you want the car to be more agressive for those tight corners, move either the front or rear arms back.

I need a longer cvd axle. The treads don't go into the axle nut far enough with wheel spacers. I'm using low profile wheel nuts. Is there another car brand that has a longer cvd axle than the TC4?

Does anyone use a wider wheel base just in the front? How does this affect the car's handling?
Most of the time I run the locknuts backwards. I have even had to do this with the low-pro's. Havent seen any longer axles.

As far as running the front wider than the rear, it tends to give the car more corner entry steering but the rear end may start to come around mid corner.

Square makes a Axle that uses a 4m nut like most metric cars and it has a bit more lenght on the threads.. also TOBEE Craft makes a thinner Hex clamp that will allow more of the Nut to lock down.. but the trade of to this is that the wheel trak becomes a bit narrow and you will more than likely have to grind a bit off of the front steering knuckle to make 28mm or 30mm foams fit.?

Default Thanks guys.

All I need is about 2mm longer (threads) and it would be fine. I used some thread lock, maybe that will work long enough for racing day. Going to try

Default Man, I hate building AE shocks!

I can never get them to all rebound the same. I build them according to the instructions and they never all come out the same. Then I have to wait until all the air is gone and start over again. What a waste of time!

I can't wait to get a few sets of Losi's new shocks. I'll bet there nice, smooth and easy to build. I'm glad they are a neutral color.

they are not a waste ( spelt WASTE, not WAIST f.y.i.) of time.
you are just not quite getting the knack of building them.

I find if you fill about 3/4ers, then pump the air out then top off.
They all come out very very close for me that way.

Default Anyone find some fixes for the steering...

Anyone still using the stock servo link. I have about 2-3mm of play left/right I would like to get solved.

Also I noticed the shocks rub on the c-hubs. Anyone have to shim the bottom end of the shock?

If you mount the shock one in on the bottom and one in on the top, is the shock angle the same as if you had it on the outer settings? Or does this change the handling?

I have a problem bleeding the shocks, they never seem to bleed, I fill them up and get rid of air and go to bleed and nothing really comes out...lol some times it works good and others its horrible. I dunno, I like the losi's better.

I think you have to grind the c-hubs a bit to keep the bottom of the springs from rubbing.

If you mount the shock on the inner hole, it gives the shock less leverage so that it feels softer.

Default shocks

first off change to the yok caps with the bleed holes .. perfect every time same rebound no matter what.. next run one .060 shim behind the ball stud for the shocks to clear...they usually only hit with less than 4 deg blocks. for the steering slop its the center mounts ..just ad one 3 mill shim under the rack and it will get most of the slop out.

Default AARON....

I'm not sure what you mean by the "Center mount." Put a 3mm shim where? Do you mean replace the spring with the 3mm shim? I put two shims under the steering posts which helped some.

Default If going to the bottom inside....

hole makes it less stiff, should you go with a harder spring if I have too much over steer again?

Stiffer Front = Less Off Power Steering
Softer Back = Less On Power Steering

Well, I got 6 Losi XXX-S, and three more to come (I don't plan on switching to the JRXS, and I want to have all the parts in multiples so I can run the car for years to come) and now I think I might have to throw a TC4 into the mix, this chassis is awesome, can't wait to get one for the rug, maybe for stock, run Losi for everything else on the rug.

How do yall like the steering on the TC4, I just got rid of 2 TC3's and I liked the steering of a XXX-S better (it feels smoother) I was just wondering what the racers thought.

I like the car, compared to my TC3s it feels more planted and more reactive. I ran it box stock (except the shoil oil 60/40 #2 pistons) on the rug, with Jaco red/red. Aside from my hacked driving I felt the car was railed (provided I paid attention to the race line)
