drive train weight, gt7 settings
Is there any benefit to having a heavier drivetrain weight to where the inertia of the drivetrain will keep the off power turns flowing.
I also would like to know what kind of "personal" settings everyone has in profile #7 for stock racing and what benefits you have recieved from using the other profiles.

The best thing you can do to keep your drive train rolling along in stock is to add a little throttle trim via your radio... depending on the gearing and the track conditions, on my M8 I'd run anywhere between 0 and 7 clicks...
Adding weight to your drive train will make it harder for the stock motor to accellerate to the kinds of speeds you'll want ...
As far as settings on the GT7. Most people run profile 6 in stock with great success.
Some people have tried running profile 7 with the following settings:
1 kHz Drive Frequency (1 blink)
3.5 kHz Brake Frequency(2 blinks)
Standard Braking(yellow LED only)
20% Min Brake(1 blink)

What is the benefit of the profile 6 versus which is the "possible" oval application on the gt7 manual versus the 3 or 4 programs which state are stock or aggresive stock.

Profile 6 has a lower drive frequency which will result in a punchier feel...which is exactly what you need in stock racing: More accelleration.

so profile 6 with a higher idle on the transimitter should create faster lap times? And possibly faster with program 7

You still have to drive it to produce the faster lap times!

That is the problem. I know how to be fast its just consistancy. Plus its been four months till this past weekend. I did allright though posting 3 of the fastest 4 laps in the main. Probly posted the 3 slowest laps also.

So if I switch to profile 6 which has a lower frequency, does that lower the efficiency of the motor? Also, will I have to gear up to compensate for the higher torque? Will I have to use harder springs?

Start out by leaving your motor the same as far as brush/spring combination.
Lower drive frequencies will generally tend to be a little harder on the motor... you might want to cut/rebrush your motor a little more often.

What about gearing?
