Dave-Didn't I see you running one of these on the 12R5? Do you have any available? I'd sure like to get a couple if you do

Yes I did win Concourse at the Nats last year with it, and used it for the A2 Main.
I only have a few left.

Still have the mold bucks to make more, but don't have the machines to do so.
Future project perhaps...

Hey Bill,

do you (or anybody else) know what the handout tires for World GT will be?

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Tellan.

Hopefully there will be some stock on the shelves before October, as most of the popular online dealers dont have any!

For WGT practice I assume you could run tires you bring with you...but for qualifying and the race the last 2 years you have to run tires that you get from the race. As the Lilacs last super long there's really no need to stock up on extras for the practice sessions. I ran the whole event the past 2 years on 2 sets of tires for each year and probably could have gotten by on 1 set but didn't want to risk it.

First off, last year's WGT handout tire was CRC which worked perfectly for me.

I am believing that the only mounted Spec WGT tires (blue stripe) currently being made are the BSR/CRC branded ones. So, that makes me think it is a no brainer...if nothing changes.

But, with JACO being an IIC sponsor; maybe they will consider making their version again. Would hope that they will not be producing any tires like the yellow stripe ones that came out for the 2009 Asphalt Nats. Their too wide yellow bands on the fronts used some very odd foam rubber which were by far the poorest WGT tires I have ever used.

So, we'll see when Scotty lets us know.

Last year the hand out at the IIC was the Yellow stripe Jaco...Remember truing the yellow at an angle for more constancy The year before was the carbon pattern rimmed Jaco...Hopefully they go back to that without the yellow foam.

Same here.

Have not checked my notes from last year; but, I think I cut the CRCs down to something like 53mm to start and ran them down to 51.5mm for unramped WGT.

Probably will do the same this year; so, I would estimate 1 set for unramped 13.5 and maybe 2 sets for ramped 10.5.

Can't wait to see everyone WGT'ing there.

Wow! My bad...You're right!

Thought I was only covered in yellow (after cutting those suckers) at one race.

I practiced, qualified and raced on Jacos.
