Should be cheap, but can't help thinking that the chassis plate will be too weak. But, it should work well on unprepared surfaces.

I like the idea of rtr but where to get them? It seems to have everything needed for silver can racing which does not need much to make laps. I'm not a'ginit, could be fer'it.

It's a rebadged bottom spec Tech Racing F125 with their Toyota body, model number F125TYK.

One of our club members ran a TF125, gripped well until he found the weak point of the car. He bent the rather thin alloy cross brace the rear pod pivots on, then found it impossible to get spare parts to fix it, even direct from Japan. I guess we'll have to see if Himoto will improve the parts availability.

Well that takes all the fun out of it. I was about to purchase the 125 from rcmart to run in our series. I have already contacted Himotousa about when the car will be here. Not to worry though. If they can stock the parts for them I'll be all for it to get newbies into racing. And maybe one for myself.

There is a F104 clone out there as well with an aluminium chassis, I spotted it on the auction website back home.

I got me one of those and got rid of the pre-painted body and wings and completed the chassis with Chevron F1-08 body, still in finishing progress

this kinda cars is being advertised to 60 km/h (37.5 mph) and thats kinda hard to believe since even a Tamiya F103(which is of much better quality) wont reach 60

Eh, too much when you can get something from 3racing for about $100-120. (FGX or F109) Still better equipped too.

As much as I like seeing more companies release F1 cars, I don't see anything really compelling with this one.

I agree, it's nice to see companies want to take advantage of a portion of market share, but the F1 market is saturated already with the top 3 (no particular order & my opinion) being Tamiya, 3 Racing, and HPI.

While the car looks nice, it will never be as competitive as Tamiya's F103 or F104 (v1 or v2), 3 Racing's F109 or FGX or HPI's F10.

Crap load of cars already, again Tamiya will still triumph because parts availably is there so is FGX they have a parts availability also little harder but second best next to tamiya.
TRG HPI parts are harder to get.

So whoever wants to enter the F1 game they need to after a nice part availability.

Just to point out to the recent posters, did you actually check the date of the first post?

It's been 18 months since this was supposed to be released and we haven't seen it. The original Tech Racing F125 the Himoto is based on has been around since April 2009 and has been pretty successful in the Far East, it was out before the original F104 appeared. The only downside to the car is that it isn't supported outside Japan, but Tech Racing seem happy to stick to the domestic market.

Having raced against one of these two years ago, I would have to say these are brilliant cars and the unique torsion spring link rear end works very well. The only problem with it was having to order spares from Japan.

Tamiya nor any other f1 manufacturer advertises their cars will do 60km/h out of the box either. They leave that to.HPI and Traxxas.
