Battery Question
I have some 1800 Venoms I got free with my E-Maxx. I just use them for bashing around as spares on the E-Maxx. Last nite, one of them charged, but didnt have any power in it. I hooked it up to my bulb discharger and nothing, no light.
So I hooked it back up to my peak charger, and again charged it. Again, nothing. I did this once more today and it did make the bulbs go slightly dim on the discharger. I decided to try it on the E-Maxx. After 3min of running, 1 battery was fine, the other one that has been giving me problems was HOT! (E-Maxx uses 2 packs at once) Any idea what is wrong with this pack and what I can do to fix it? Thanx. |
Could sound like you have one or two damaged cells in that pack... Do some of the cells get warm during charge before the others?
|
toss it (and the other one) in the bin and buy some 3300 sticks to replace it. why bother trying to fix a crap pack....
|
Sounds like you have a bad cell or two. It would probably be better to just buy a new pack them to try to repair it.

Thats what I thought. They are cheap and I am not worried out replacing them.
I just got into this hobby a little over a month ago. I built a TC3, got a E-Maxx and a Revo. I am using Ni-Cd packs, 4x1800 and 4x2400 so far. I use the 2400 for the TC3 and the 1800 for the E-Maxx. After this winter I am gonna buy a better charger and start to buy some good cells. But since I am still learning, the cheap ones are cool. Thanx for the help guys. |
