Default 1S (3.7V) Saddle LiPo

Hi is the Speedzone 5200 mAh battery (S25200PROSD1S) still the only ROAR/BRCA approved 1S Saddle out there? Are there likely to be any more any time soon?

There are a few new guys getting into 12th at my club because the old T-bar cars are so cheap, and I want to be able to recommend LiPo batteries to them. We also want to have a Stock 12th class running, and don't want to deal with parity issues if we can help it. So, is the Speedzone pack the only option?

The Speedzone 1s saddle pack is a really good battery. It looks like they will remain available as long as there are t bar cars, so go ahead and run them. I have been using these packs for some time and they perform as well or better than any of the latest brick packs from other manuyfacturers

Thanks OD. Glad you like them.

Radio Active - as far as I know, we are still the only company to make the 1S saddle pack.

From what I have seen, the Speedzone packs are excellent. It sure would be nice to have some variety though

I have had the Speed Zone pack for my 12L4 for almost a year. The first time using it was at a local big carpet race back last March. I was the only T-bar car at the event. Qualified 5th for the A-main and finished 4th. Still have the car and the pack. Never had any issues with the pack and like the fact that you can charge it up to 5C. Personally, I would recommend this pack to anyone that has a T-bar car that doesn't want to upgrade to the 1-cell LiPo pack designed car or try to modify your T-bar car for a solid 1-cell pack.

Thanks for the feedback, it's good to know the pack is rated so highly.

I was a little reluctant to recommend it because it is rated at a lower capacity than many of the current packs, and is retailing for about $15 - $20 more (at least where I'm looking - let me know where the best price is if you know). However, if it is as good as the reports then that puts my mind at ease to a degree.

These have been sold out on the speedzone page for a while now. I realise you can still get them from other retailers. But has anyone heard anything about a replacement, or when new stock is coming in?

I use these in my drag cars, can't beat them for power delivery and price.

I love my SpeedZone Saddlepacks too - unfortunately they're not allowed for the Austrian nationals due to the fact that they are not EFRA listed (bummer).

I hope they'll be available again soon - there are quite some guys here at my track who'd love to race their T-bar cars again and keep asking me where they can get those packs.

I've never had any trouble with these packs, which is awesome - please don't stop producing them! ;-)

If you plan on updating them, think about a connector between the packs in order to charge the seperately, and/or bullet connectors insted of the DEANS connector.

Here are some pics of my modified Xray XII car:

Maybe someone could shed some light on how to refresh these packs with new cells, perhaps inform us on the manufacturer and sku/part number so we can order new fresh cells to replace old ones and continue to race our t-bar cars.

Thanks!
