So you guys are saying that in deadheat situations that the car w/ the pt on the bumper will win against a car w/ the pt mounted alongside the servo (etc..etc..)? If it's the case then it makes sense to mount it as forward as possible, right?

Well its not that hard is it?? If in doubt, then the person with it mounted in front will win so why not put it at the front?? I think its worth it!

The thing is 80+ bucks, i put it in the middle.

Maybe if i were in the nationals I would put it in the front, but even than the place I currently have it helps with my static weight balance.

If you put it just to the rear of the front bumper (by cutting a slot for the transopnder), the foam will protect it nicely.

A club I race at makes you locate the transponder between the wheels....I thought that might have been deprived from a ROAR rule

I think you got it wrong.

It doesn't matter where the transpoder is located because when you pass the loop it sends a signal to the pc giving you a lap. That means since both cars pass the loop at the same time (transponder wise not how we look at them) the result will be the same. That is the case for timming qualifings where everyone is running against time.

On finals now, where we run against each other, the car that has the transponder in front has the slight, not even whole second, advantage on other cars becuase it passes the loop earlier, BUT this is only the first lap. On the next laps it doesn't make any difference.

I hope I explained what I think is the case good enough!

in the main race the master clock starts at the same time for every one, your racing each other not the clock.

so every time you pass the loop its a lap, who ever get there first is the faster car and it happens on everylap.

think of it on the final lap not so much the first.
