Default question about gears and shocks

guys I am ordering one of these cars and I am curious about two things:

1) what pitch are the gears included in the kit?
2) In a S710 (nitro) you were able to pull the shaft of the shock down until it locked onto something internal and then twist. This would rotate the piston inside and open or close additional holes. So you went form 2-3-4 holes with a simple twist. Is serpent still doing this? if not, why did they stop?

Thanks,

To help you out...

1) The car comes with a 48 pitch spur gear. I believe it is a 84 tooth. I switched mine out for a 64 pitch since I had more pinions for 64 pitch.

2) No - the shocks do not have that option any longer. I believe the Xray still has that option with it's shocks but most people do not use it. The shocks on the S411 are actually very easy to work on - switching pistons takes very little time and the action on the shocks are pretty smooth.

Curious as to why you would want a carbon front stay? The plastic is just fine... If anything a little more forgiving in a crash.

Hi where did you get the quote from?
what is RCC ? thank you.

BTW any tips to things to look out for when building?
I noticed that serpent leaves the top of the ball-cup links open to expose the ball below. I see several people making this modification to their cars (non serpent) by dremeling. What is the advantage of this?

Trimming the ballcup allows you to get the 2mm wrench in there without pulling the ball cup off. Since it is press fit plastic, the more you remove a ball cup, the more play you get. I t

So you can make changes without removing it.... It can also help with clearance in some instances.

Rebuilding my shocks and I damage 1 of the shocks spring washer/snap ring, will this work because the instruction parts lists parts as 903332 but I cant find it anywhere one the net.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Seger-Clip-10

I read the entire instruction and this is the only time when the spring washer/snap ring is used and Amain has a different part# but list as being used the s411. Can someone confirm this is the right snap for the shocks, thanks in advance.
