Whats the biggest tooth spur that will fit in the S411 in 48P & 64P?
Also whats the internal ratio? Cannot seem to find any info from the downloaded manual.
- Ops....Found it 2.0 internal ratio

By the way you guys mentioned using xray spurs. Are you all using off-set spurs or not?

Thanks in advance.

I personally feel that a 84t 48 pitch and its equivalent 112t 64p spur are the largest I will ever put in my car. If you own a dremel you can create a little extra room for a bigger spur, but the teeth would be really close to hitting the ground when your chassis bottoms out, it's pretty darn close with a 112t now.

I have a PRS 112t in mine now and I think I am switching to a 106t 64p Team Associated TC6 spur gear.

Hey Steve
wouldn't you think the 106T spur it's kinda too big for 17.5 NB?

Maybe, probably. Honestly I have not spent that much time looking into it. I do own smaller spurs if needed. I recently just acquired some major mongo pinions when needed.

I do plan on running mod more than 17.5 NB.

How is the crank compared to the S400? I was going to run an S400 in VTA but I think I will go USGT with it. So that is still geared up there on a 21.5.

I think the spurs I have been using are 1/12th spurs. Robinson or precision engineering? I will have to go look. Anyway none of them fit the crank. I have to drill out the two extra holes to get the spur to go on. At least with all of the screws. I may keep my eyes open for an S411 to come available used.

Do you mean the center pulley shaft. If that is what you mean, then it has 3 holes in it. The spurs require the TC spacing. Usually the spurs meant for only TC use have 6 holes drilled nearest the center of the spur. 1/12th scale spurs have 8 or 12 holes around the center, if you use a dremel and make some modification than you can get almost any spur to work.

Xray has some small spurs in the TC configuration.

Ya, I am using a xray 84T spur now. and it is very close to the bottom of the chassis already. Don't think it can go bigger without the spur stick out.....

Seems like a 104t would fit without any problem. Then again I am not looking at it.

84t 48pitch correct, Yes I am using a 112t 64 pitch which is the same gear only in 64 pitch and I would not put anything bigger in. I definately think the teeth could get chipped by debris. I am swithing to a 106t 64 pitch.
