More than half of what you say is jibberish. However, it sounds like you are complaining about the price of RC "toy" cars. This is not the thread for that. The point of this thread is about the Serpent 411. If you're gonna complain about the cost of things, you and the other poster can rubber stamp your complaints and post it on the Tamiya 417 thread, the XRay T3 2011 thread, and the Hot Bodies TCX thread. Or you can start your own thread complaining about the price of RCs in general.
Will the gear diff unit be sold as a complete kit? If so, how much?

Also, looking at the early pictures, I thought the diffs would be interchangeable with the 733 diffs but looking at the manual I see that is not so. I kept a oneway/spool from my 733 thinking that I can use it on the S411 but thats not gonna happen.

Speaking as someone who's spent too much already i.e. much more than the amount mentioned above - don't tell the SO, and still spending too much on r/c cars...375quid is a good chunk of lolly. And to sound so flippant (apologies if your intended tone was not so, the internet is not so good at expressing such things) about it for what is essentially a toy car (OK, give it a fancy name of you choice if you want e.g. ego massager, tingly-feeling-goodness generator, momentary reality escape contraption, rolling chassis ) makes me feel shocked for some reason. Are the prices so high (and acceptable it seems) nowadays because us hobbyists are willing to pay come what may or because it really needs to be this much before it remains viable to be put into production?
One strategy of the manufacturer might be that they will have "introductory" prices on markets where they are just entering and higher prices where they are established already. I am not sure this will work but it's worth a try.
In places like the US it will be difficult to break as Xray, Tamiya and AE products are already established and cover various segments of the market. Not sure what is the position of Serpent in Europe, but I think they'll have a tough market to deal with there as well.
As far as Australia is concerned, our currency coupled with our import taxes currently makes anything domestic expensive compared with Hong Kong which is only three days away on EMS/DHL and has no taxes. This still means that if you buy overseas you're at the mercy of overseas sources of parts and in an emergency you might be stuck.
But to answer your question, oh well, you did already. We pay whatever it takes to have our toys and play with them, didn't you?

the importer is very efficient, and made sure parts were here when the kits landed. pricing is very competitive with the HK market also.

That tape holder looks very similar to the one used on the TC6. Great! Looks like I can use Velcro straps instead of tape.
