Hello Ed,

You can pretty much see what they appear to have done to the shocks. The top and bottom aluminum parts look to be shorter, and also the top and bottom plastic parts are shorter as well. This appears to be were they made the difference and still allow the standard length springs to be used. They mention that pretty much all the parts are interchangeable within the other versions and the new car. Time will tell though.

I think the new car looks great and they did some very clever things on the new car. Can't wait to get one.

It looks like you could almost use the shorter plastics on the old shocks and they might be short enough for the new tower.

The new shorter shocks have only one silicone o-ring. The old shocks have two plus a second delrin shim. That shortend the inside with aprx. 3 mm. Another thing is the top. The top is lowered and a new membrane is in the top. That is another maybe 2 mm you can add to the inside volume. You can use the same springs as the bottom linkage is shortend up and the spring collar is lowered, therefore, you can use the same lenght of springs.

Default Short summary---Check out the full coverage

The new car is doing very well at the on-going ETS race. Marc Fischer finished 4th in the second round, and second in the third round. Volker got him by 4 hundreths of a second.

Not too bad for a guy who missed the first heat of practice because of travel issues and had to run someone else's car in the second practice because he did not have time to get his own car ready having just arrived. Pretty darn impressive. Other Serpent drivers are doing well as well.

Coverage is on Redrc

here's a question for everyone, how high are the bottom of your bodies from the racing surface, front, sides? after looking at some pictures from the euro series it seems that the bodies are really slammed on the chassis or they are cut pretty high off the ground. looking at the front splitters, they seem to be very thin compared to all the bodies i've done and seen in person.

I would think the dots have something to do with the height, especially the front splitter.

any idea when the new parts will be available. I might look at upgrading one of my TE's to the new spec. lower shocks, steering ect.
cheaper than a whole new car and there isnt really anything wrong with either of the cars atm.
