Hey all. This year my home track will host the 2012 paved Nats. I am an off-road guy that wants to jump head first into on-road with the Nats coming. With all that being said what will I need from Serpent (which car/what parts) to make a car work at a fast, open, smooth asphalt track? I ran a 416x last season for a few races and was very impressed. My TLR deal only allows me a small amount of wiggle room for on-road and Serpent fits the bill.

Which RCM shocks "long or short "are equivalent to RCCX kit shocks

they are exactly the same as previous shocks length wise.
the 411 uses the same shocks all round, RCM short is what you want. the long shock is for the rear of the 966 and also some people use it on the 733 rear.

but 411 , short all round.

I purchased the 2mm chassis the same time I bought the kit and had never even tried the 2.5 .My buddy is using the 2.5 and I have tried his car as well and found that the 2mm gave my car more grip(traction).
I started with the stock set up and slowly tweeked for the track that weekend . I started with the stock upper deck and switched the flex about a two races ago .I find that if your looking for traction which I was at our track these two obtions are the way to go .

I can see why you have been a long time fan of serpent!! They make some great products...for sure!!

I really wish i was going to the roar carpet nats this weekend in texas...my car is really working well on carpet. But I have some family commitments.

Has anyone even tried the ball diff (rear) ? I bought one to check out.
I was wondering if you need to sand the plates to prep for building like on the Xrays. We always sanded to make them buttery......

has anyone tried the new exoteck chassis yet? it looks like in the one picture of the car with the battery, they used rubber o-rings on the aluminum steering arms to help with the bearing play.

There are no o-rings mentioned on their website. Just a CF brace.

I am switching my le parts over to my new 2.0 chassis and 2.0 flex topdeck.
what would be a good low traction starting point for spacing under the front and rear blocks? I am running the 3.5 and 0 in the rear and 2.0 in the front in both places.

go on their website and look at the picture of the chassis with the battery. it looks like rubber o-rings under the button head screws on the steering arms. i understand that it may not be. but it might be a good idea for those with steering slop.
