i also run speed passion, so a motor change doesnt incurr any soldering either.
i just love how everything is. i wouldnt have it any other way.
but stock....... different story. remove spur, and top deck, ouch........
yep i am heraing you on this i to love the SP no need for soldering fast and easy changes
after the nats i will put my 3.5 back in and abuse my 411

i posted a setup sheet the other day, or it can be found here http://www.serpent.com/product/400005/setups/
Aussie setup. my FDR and everything on the car is Xceed oil in cst and Serpent springs. Handel the power ? absolutely. Mod runs 5 mins. motor temp is around 78C. i have just arrived the MMM 3.5T that uses the +10 timing board. so i will have to play again to keep temps down.

Ren, how you doing ? these spurs work a treat, and also the Spec R blades for the yokomo i got from you. just waiting on serpent to release the Derlin adaptors for the out drives, and ill be switching to them. Serpent now have spurs also, dependant of the chassis, if using 2 or 2.25, i wouldnt go for the 84T, go for something a little smaller. the 84T is nearly flush with the bottom of the chassis. the serpent spurs are very wide also.
just while i comment on those items, guys using the std Kit arms, do remove them and check them for straightness. the std arms are soft. and they flex, if you havent switched already to H or M arms, just pull them off and be checking them for straightness. i will be sure the front ones will be bent. making the cars caster variable, and inconsistant. your looking at the front of the front arm, from teh shock position your using to the C Hub pins. and its only the front part of the arms, so really they are buckled then as well. Droop and caster are effected. also middle pullies, guys running MOD, hold your spurs tight, and move each diff a little, if the pullies move before tryign to turn the spur, then your pins on the middle shaft are just about to turn inside your 19T pullies.

The price of them is just ludicrous... Not sure what serpent have yet but the kit 84t is quite good.

THanks Matt. it has come by trying lots of things. i have been hammered since i got the car by most, askign questions, and asking for setup. early on i didnt hand out a setup, cause the car was new to me, and still had lots to try. but Sunday did see a huge improvment, so i thaught it was a good setup to start to share around. i hope the MMM 3.5T can give me a little more, but will have to start again with gearing and settings. nows the time to be trying before the Nats arrive.

If you put hard or medium a-arms on your vehicle how does it effect handling?

it can give you a better feel for one end of the car. use it as a tuning aid. the softer arm will generate a little more grip than the harder arm . for me, i had a decent setup, but when the M and H plastics were available i tried all H first. i lost steering, so i put on M on the front, and i found what i was after, the added bit of steering i was looking for. when i say i needed steering, due to the nature of the track im running on, i have no more than 80-85 D/R on my radio. i do not wish to just turn it up, i feel the car looses corner speed and it can unsettle the rear end. so i just needed to find that little bit extra steering, which i found with the setup.
