This weekend I will have the car on the track for the first time and I will be trying different set-ups, I am one that dose'nt believe in using parts from other car's to make a car go faster. Whitch means I will be using all Serpent parts. I will let everyone know what I find out next week.
Hey Rc scoot,
Have u run the hard parts yet? If so how did you go & are they worth the extra $$ over the standard bits?

AZZ

Rc scoot and I hail from the same local track. We run carpet which typically has more traction than asphalt. He will be testing the car for the first time today as well as the Hard suspension parts. I ran it for the first time on the 5th. There is a differece between too much traction/grip and too much steering. I don't think you can ever have too much traction especially with rubber tire. That being said, when I tested it we found that the kit suspension parts are too soft and yield too much steering up front and makes the car inconsistant and hard to drive. The car had tons of traction and was fast, but too much steering which made the rear end loose. I had Paul Ciccarello Which is our team mangager helping me and no matter what we changed we couldn't take steering out of the car and thats when we realized how soft the kit a-arms were and narrowed it down to that. Our local track doesn't get as much traction as the bigger races we attend. We will be returning to The Gate in Cleveland Ohio where I first tested the car to try the hard arms on Sept. 16-17, they are having a Vegas warm -up race. RC scoot is supposed to call me today and let me know how it went today. I'm sure he will post his findings. But to answer your question on whether the parts are worth it, I say if you can afford it, it doesn't hurt to have different tuning options. I remember when I still ran Foam tires on carpet we ran Differnt strength arms front and rear. I hope this helped.

placing hard arms on the front should assist in taking steering away. when i used to run corally i used derilium arms from and back no flex in those at all.

what about putting more shims under the blocks to raise the roll centre that should also assist in taking some steering away

That will also make the front end more responsive making it easier to break traction on the rear when entering a corner or changing direction. I normally prefer it the other way round with more shims under the rear (rubber/asphalt)

Hi everybody, i'm GP racer and going to start run EP with S411 .. still in assembling stage. I'm abit handicap interm of EP drive ratio/ spur/gear 48p or 64p etc. Not many friends to refer in local track as most of them running TRF and Xray . Can anybody recommend me the spur/pinion combo for my stock 17.5 motor? And my i know what other brand of spur gear that can suit S411. Thanks for your recommendation.
