One benefit with the aluminum chassis is a lower COG for the whole car.

Nothing, if it works well for you. The aluminum chassis should allow more flex, and opens the set up window a lot. But, like with everything, there are probably places where the 2.0 hard, and even stock chassis might be beneficial. If you are like me and get cases of the taps, maybe aluminum isn't the best option. But bet your a#% I will be testing the integrity of it.

I also think that the 3.0 deserves it's own thread when it is released or now even. A lot of differences from the original S411, and set ups probably won't carry over.

Marc Fischer driving with aluminum chassis on the LRP tcm. And he very fast with them. His car work superb and he have one of the best lap time.

This is a straight swap over but you'd take advantage of the extra grip this chassis offers if you get yourself a flex top deck p/n 401495, 2x sets of the split blocks p/n 401597 and a packet of 401586 shims to match. Your TE comes with the 1 peice blocks and stiff top deck which would be ok if your running higher grip. If you run low grip definitely upgrade the above parts also.

The split blocks and the standard blocks have the same footprint and so I think the chassis is backwards compatible! Never tried it myself however I'm pretty sure it'll fit fine.

Oh and a bump for the proper thread to continue 3.0 discussions

This past weekend was NORCARS Grand Finale held at The Gate. Paul C and Cody W finished 1-2 ahead of one of those shaft cars.

Both cars, Eryx 2.0, looked amazing. Good job kids!

The new kit looks really nice and what impresses me the most is the inclusion of the DCJ drives and the 0.5 split/3.5 rear block. I've been looking at all my ERXY stuff today and pondering whether to sell one of my rollers and keep the freshest one to help fund the purchase. The current car is just too good as it is for me to think of selling all the bits I've got to get something I'm not sure I need. I just don't run on the grip levels I think the new car is built for. I wonder if they will still run the 2.0 and 3.0 production and whether future 2.0 kits would come with the V2 DCJ front driveshafts and v2 arms etc? Good times for the brand regardless.

Because I don't think it's main goal was to lower CG. The aluminium chassis is being employed due to the superior (?) flex characteristics the material has over carbon fibre...
