Yea parts are my only concern, especially given the fact that Serpent dropped the old car and left owners in the lurch a little bit support wise. I hope this car gets the continued support it looks like it deserves.

Considering serpent sponsor uk drivers, I'd imagine they'd have good support in the uk.

I guess, given that the car comes with front spool, I would expect it to have ECS driveshafts as it has been demonstarted that CVDs don't measure up to it. A small but important point as it will make people feel they have to upgrade a brand new car straight out of the box.

Another one is the lack of driveshaft blade protectors. Thes ehave proven their importance especially with spools and not having them is just plain ignoring the reality of current market status. Yokomo has the same problem, and I really don't understand what are their designers thinking.

Choose the Serpent video, Billy Easton talks about the new ride. Wonder if he will run some touring car again?

It wouldn't be worth it as it looks like 1/2 the car is new. Keep your old car for spare (for what is the same) and just get the new one.

When I first saw the s400 car presented to me by a team driver, my initial thoughts were very good - The parts looked well machined and the layout looked good.

The car had some good results in the UK too.

But, after that, things went downhill, very quickly....

I head of team drivers buying used cars off of ebay because the parts supply was so poor, finally then leaving the team.

Different top decks were developed and tried also to assist the cars handling, as it was an issue too, not sure what happened...

Then it was announced the s400 would no longer be suppored by Serpent.

Serpent will have its work cut out if it wants to gain previous s400 customers, after the way they were treated.

To some degree, Serpent shot themselves in the foot even before the s401 was just a model name....

I won't be buying one.

I remember all of this and I still can feel the vibe. What I did not know was that Serpent announced that they would no longer support the car. I thought they quietly brushed it aside while ignoring calls from those wondering what was going on.

I did love the S400 and I still have it. Makes a great VTA car.
As far as parts support, it is my understanding that Serpent has severed ties with the source that failed them so bad on the S400 and now they have a better line.
I hope this is true. I dont need a TC right now so I can afford to wait.

Its not the first time

Same happened with Veteq 1/8 onroad, very very expensive then dropped soonafter

Then they designed the 960. And changed, unnecessarily, the alignment of the rear suspension parts by a fraction making almost all spares from 950 obsolete.

Then changed it back again for 960 08

Must say I felt really insulted, and stupid for buying their product
