Many racers uses the HPI or Ride outdoors and the Tamiya indoors. I like the Ride outdoors, as the spring rates are pretty close. You can fine tune your car. At the WC we used Ride red in the front and Ride blue in the rear - rated 16,9 and 16,1.

I have made a spring and gearing chart. You can find it in the Serpent forum - page 4 under S411.
i have been using the ride red springs (medium) front and rear with the 3 hole pistons 400 oil, this seems to be the combo for most tracks i race at.
But this weekend i want to try a harder spring and see what the difference is as i have only tried the softer silver springs.

Yes I can. Which spur gear and pinion combinations?

The chart is easy made. I've made it in Excel, so I've just to fill in the spur gear and pinion sizes, and Excel made the rest for me.

Excellent. Serpent make a few different size spurs and i see in your original chart you have 10 spur sizes and 16 pinions so I will add a couple of sizes inbetween that are available from panaracer and arrowmax as well. If you could do pinions from 19 to 35 and the following spurs, 69, 72, 75, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 84, 87 that would be awesome. Regards Benzaah

I believe 84t is the largest 48p you can use. I currently have an XRAY 84t 48p on mine and it is dead level with the bottom of the chassis..... One more tooth and it would protrude (even if only .1mm). This is with the 2.25mm chassis.

Just a heads up didn't notice this until after I ordered a handful of 87t

Outdoors the largest I run with any longevity has been 81t . I noticed even 82t on a rougher surface with low ride height can give you a higher Chance for debris to scar the spur

Hi.

See attached file.

64 dp / 92 spur and 50 t pinions? Then you have a really tight gearing steps between each pinions. A step of less than 0,1.

Great! Can we have a modified gearing chart with 64p?
See you next sunday, I´ve ditched the Corally and looking forward to be much more competitive with Serpent.

Hi.

Nice - you will not be disappointed. S411 is a lovely car. Look forward to the race in Glostrup. We will start with the setup from the WC - maybe change the suspension block in the rear to 2,5 or 3,0. We will see how it work. You can find the setup on the Serpent site. It worked great in Heemstede.

A 64 dp chart for modified you can find either here some pages back or on the Serpent Forum site under S411 pages 4.

Sure - I could do it, but I will not search for the rates. If you give me them, I will fill them into my chart.

You could also send me a PM with your e-mail address, and then I will send you the Excel file. You can then fill in the rates, you want.
