We installed the alloy pulleys, as we had bad memories with plastic pulleys and gear diff. in our older car (Tamiya 416X). Several DNF because of pulleys melted down.

A little tip. When you install the alloy pulleys, put in a tiny(!!) ball of cleaning gum, where the pin are seated. Then you have no noise (like tic-tic-tic), as the pin now are seated well.
probably had about 10 months on this current set of pullies, i have one more set coming, as i have seen some small marks from stones, but not too much to worry about. its not hurting the belts in any way. another thing i do , is get a dremmel and grind the top plate , to give more gap between the belt , if you happen to pick up a small stone, it has more chance of coming out with out harm , rather then jamming the belt into the carbon top plate, as the gap is minimal before grinding.

Just yesterday I destroyed a belt, because a stone jammed on the pullies.

I've been bitten by the Snake. , picked a sh roller for immediate testing then once sorted I'll grab a new kit and use this one as a back up chassis, there were just too many X-rays at my local, needed something different. Can't wait to get it out on the track...

Default info about the serpent s411 sedan

hello fellow racers, looking for some info about the serpent s411 sedan.
1) how does this car compare to the quality of an xray?
2) is this a top notch race sedan?
3) How is parts availability?
4) only reason i'm asking is because no one in my area races serpent and just thinking about something different for the area. been racing xrays for the last 4 years and love the car but changes are always welcome. thanks all.

1. I owned XRAY and they are comparable! I've never had fit/finish issues and the car is durable.
2. Yes, responsive to setup change and a good design.
3. Amain, SerpentAmerica, and Stormer all carry parts

1) I'd say its the same.
2) yes, its never the lack of car that reflects the results.
3) SerpentAmerica, A-Main, Stormers have good parts supply.
4) You won't be dissapointed running one.

I have heavily crash tested the serpent and it comes in very close to the xrays quality. If anything i have found the hard plastics to be a bit too hard and have worn them out through excessive set up changes and putting screws in and out rather than breakages. Fisher and the car won the german nats against all the other top german drivers(rheinard, volker and prumper etc) and thier tamiyas and yokomos. Give the car a try you wont be dissapointed.

Do the hard arms and hubs make a big difference ? And how can you identify if they are the hard parts ?

The hard arms make a huge difference on carpet. The car feels much more direct and responsive in my opinion.

The hard parts typically have an "H"on them along with being a lighter color of material..... Closer to a graphite grey than the darker solid "black".

The 411 TE was released a few months ago. Not aware of any new top level kit coming anytime soon.
