Ya , I am running the arms flipoed. I will have to re check my spacer setup on the steering rack.
I will copy your rack setup, I think you gave it to me.

I checked and I can run up to 4mm of ackerman with 1mm of rc shims with a LE (4mm turn buckles) and no bump steer and still have no binding issues. I think if you ran a lot of bump steer you could run into a problem with the 4mm turn buckles.

This is interesting as the rumor is that Tamiya is testing metal gears in their diffs, they can't take the mod power. Guess time will tell.

the TE will come with metal gears still , but they are working on something new and a bit lighter. always an option for the stock and blinky classes to not have to run heavy diffs.

looking at your pics it seems you have your rack arms upside down. they normally aren't flipped like that unless running the v2 setup.

got it, like a moron I just went with the info I got that the le comes with the v2 and never compared it to the v1 da. I bought the car prebuilt and the rack was already installed, funny thing is that there is no anodizing on the top of the arms. Thanks for the clue in I will run the setup in the manual and order the v2. any tips on the v1 setup?

v1 is v1, there is no adjustment. v2 has an adjustment.

I never realized how bad and sloppy the steering assembly is, really bad.
after taking the rack apart and re assembling I was dissapointed.

No, I bought it off someone on this forum who had flipped the arms but not installed the v2 rack, after running a couple weeks I was going through the car and cleaning and rebuilding. And I wanted to apply all the v2 mods and realized that the arms were flipped without the v2 rack. I put it back to stock per manual and that is when I noticed the play. Are others finding the tolerances tight or is the play normal ?
I will probably just by the v2 assembly and rebuild.
Other than the arms being flipped it had spacers added that put the rack at pretty much the same place it sets now, I am not sure it had any effect other than lowering the arms.
