2.25mm chassis makes the car easier to drive, overall. More grip everywhere. 2.25mm also feel alot better.

The Serpent 411 is much easier to drive compared to Xray. My old Xray was fast, but somewhat hard to drive. It felt like it had no grip (obviously it had grip...) My Serpent is faster, and at the same time, easier to drive.

2mm top deck is standard. 2mm chassis would be great on asphalt, I think.

What is the internal drive ratio of this chassis? I have looked all through the manual and other media in the kit and cannot find it noted.

Is it 2.0?

To be safe for outdoor with 2.25mm chassis, 108T would be better.

The absolute maximum Teeth I would suggest is for 84T for 48P Gears. This is almost flush to the bottom of the chassis with the "2.5mm chassis"

The Formula:

Outside Diameter = ( Number of Teeth +2 ) / Diametral Pitch

So... with the maximum gear we know which is 48P 84T

Outside Diameter = ( 84 + 2 ) / 48 = 1.791in (This is your limit...)

This is the theoretical value. so check the diameter of a brand new gear you have and calculate. And always keep in mind the difference as that will be your error %.

also when you do not know the maximum teeth that can be used, measure the distance form the center of the drive shaft to the bottom of the chassis which is the radius of your gear then you can calculate...

Enjoy

Assembled the 411 last night. It went together as good as any kit on the market... They improved almost all aspects of the car.

BTW, Tamiya toe blocks are not compatible.
