Gentlemen,

So I have spent a couple weeks researching different chassis options and I have decided on a s411. In order to save on shipping can anyone chime in with a list of essential or recommended parts for me to order along with my kit? I also remember reading that the newer 411 kits came with different arms but for the life of me I cannot locate the exact thread. Did I read something wrong will someone be able to point me in the right direction?

thanks

I think the newer kits came with stiffer arms, but there are always the hard arms option.

I haven't actually broken anything yet though, so haven't needed to replace anything.

Buy the lipo battery holder thingos. 401464.

Here are some more tips.

I am a factory driver for serpent. I use the setup that comes with the kit and the parts, That is a good baseline setup.

s411 has soft, medium, and hard arm. v1 kit comes with soft arm, v2 comes with medium arm I think. and you can get different arm as options

Setups are here. http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/serp...rpentS411.html

I think there is some confusion on the arms, there are only two types out there. The stock ones are a soft/med type and then the higher carbon arms are the hard ones. You can physically see the difference in the material that they are made of. The stock ones (med/soft) are a darker black and actually feel soft, where the hard arms have a hint of grey in them and are much stiffer. Either kit V1 or V2 are both the soft/med arm.

I'm currently testing a 2.25 chassis with the one piece motor mount, so far it has been very positive on carpet. It has made a fast but hard to drive car into a easy to drive car.

The Serpent site only shows the old number front arms and not the rear ones, so they are either only making the fronts as a 3rd option, or eventually only going to the 2 types of arms. I still believe that other then a different number the V1 and V2 are the same arms, just different numbers.

I will be posting my carpet setup on the serpent site. It is a very stable but fast setup using the non-hard arms, with 2mm top deck and 2.5 chassis.

Hi !

The first charge of S411's was with soft plastics and the 2.5mm carbon chassis with these cut-outs on the lipo side.

the "newest" charge of S411's was shipped with medium plastics and the new 2.5mm without the cut-outs and an higher quality (more smooth and shiny surface)

These are first hand informations, so no more confusion here :>

Why Serpent did this ? Because they're trying everytime to improve the quality of there car kits and they always listen to their customers - thats why they do that step!

Now the actual shipped serpent kits are out of the box really good, no changes needed on chassis parts oder suspension parts. It's now only a personal decision if you need maybe the hard wishbones ... no need for other parts!

best regards
Stephan

i have just decided that im not gonna worry about additional parts at this time and just see of the car does.

I would be interested in seeing that carpet set up....

how many of you guys are running a 17.5 non boosted class. next order of business is looking into gearing.

I will be using a Tekin RS Pro 17.5 turn motor.

I don't think I could jam in anything bigger than a 35t with the stock 84t spur. Start thinking about smaller spurs.
