Guys, I m rebuilding my car with the 2.25mm chassis that arrived today. I just noticed there's a gap between the upperdeck and the motor mount (at the upperdeck middle screw to the motor mount). I never noticed this with my 2.5mm chassis, maybe I didn't check it before. So is this normal? If I screw it in, wouldn't the upperdeck tweak?

Below is the pic I took, and that is when the front and rear part screws are all in. I untweak the chassis on the Hudy block and the chassis looks normal, all flat.

Normaly, we screw now screw in that hole...

But this "problem" also exists with 2,5mm - it isn't a 2,25mm issue

sometimes it "can" be possible that the middleshaft bearing holder is to big, so you have to cut off some material from the top - otherwise, the topdeck bends.

+1 I did the same thing. Also additional slop for me was the ID of the small bearing that's on the steering bridge was too large. So I put a little CA glue on the thread of the screw to thicken it up...

I'll check my car when I get home, but in the mean time, I'm thinking you have the car on edge to take the pic? Is that gap there when the car sits on a chassis pad or hudy tweak blocks. Just wondering if its just plain flex.

I like the look of those cs washers but if the outer diameter of the washer rides on the outside of the bearing and you have no clearance you should get drag when you try to turn the whole rack. JMO

Yes the gap is there even if it sits flat on the Hudy blocs,, thats where I noticed it in the first place.

i have all 3 chassis 2,2.25 ,2.5 and neither of mine have a gap like that.

i really dont think they would put a gap in there for flex as this would cause tweak when screwing the down the top deck
