Your Tracks most popular class?

Hello all, I'm just wondering what is the popular class at your track. I'm asking because the Sedan class is dwindling at the track I race at. Or I should ask, how has the Sedan class been at the track you race at? Increased, decreased, or same.

USVTA and USGT have saved touring car racing at our track. Although we still have a 17.5 boosted Sedan class at our bigger races.

Tamiya Mini is also one of the bigger classes.

Odd thing here is, all the good car counts are on our Wednesday night program. Sunday counts are way down. I guess people are busy these days!

12th scale and TC go back and forth during the carpet season. TC during asphalt. Probably SC in the dirt.

We are down to 3 or 4 diehards and we run touring car 10.5 non boosted and foam tires.

2 years ago all we ran was a "Vintage" class loosely based on the old USVTA rules, and that was our only road course class. Today we have Vintage Trans Am, Stock Sedan, Mini/Cup racer, and F1. The only one with lower turnout is F1 sadly. We get from 8-20 VTA cars, 4-8 Minis & cup racers, a steady 5 or 6 in sedan, and between 2-5 F1's. All depends on who shows up on what days, most of our regulars race 2 or 3 classes.

Boosted 17.5T is the most popular at my track. Even the modified drivers, have switched to boosted 17.5T.

For our current indoor carpet series: 17.5 NON-boost TC, hands down. After that it's 17.5 Boosted TC, then 17.5 1/12th.

Right now my track runs 17.5 Boosted Rubber TC, Mini, VTA 21.5 (no boost), 17.5 boosted 1/12th scale and 17.5 Single cell oval. Lately VTA or Mini are the biggest classes on any given night. But 17.5 Rubber is starting to make a comeback.

Well this month it's spec 1/10thE gt , then a close 2nd is 1/8th GT

RCGT is very popular around here. Easily the biggest class. 17.5 boosted class has started to pick up. Needless to say, nothing is beating the slash class anytime soon.

Wow! I am surprised at all the different classes. Funny thing, it seems the simpler the class the more popular it is. Could it be 4wd Sedan is over complicated. Thoughts.

Lately, its about tied between TC 17.5 non-boosted, 1/12 17.5 boosted, and WGT 13.5 boosted. Then comes VTA and 1/12 mod.

jlfx car audio 01-16-2011 12:59 PM

Here in west TN/south IL its 17.5 spec, vta, mini depending on which of the tracks u venture to. But all r close in attendance.

Foxxrocket 01-16-2011 02:19 PM

17.5 Touring car, 13.5 1s Oval, 10.5 1s Oval and Slash Spec.

And yes, we race them all on the same day, on the same track.

AudioStylz 01-16-2011 02:40 PM

Well I race mainly on Teusday nights which can see anything from TC 17.5 mod, TC 17.5 stock, VTA, Mini, RCGT.

VTA has been the biggest turnout on average with Mini and TC 17.5 stock 2nd and 3rd.

This year club racing entries have been way down from last year. There might be 15-20 total entries at most on any Teusday, Friday, or Sunday. It's quite depressing to see such low turnouts.
