Opel / Vauxhall shell hunt
Hi , new to this site so unsure if this is the right area to ask,
but im looking for bodyshells for vauxhalls or opels. I went to a VXR power event last year and they were running remote control cars for visitors to race and they were corsa VXR shells , i soooo want one,any body got any ideas where i could purchase these from,or vectra / astra shells as you can tell i am a Vauxhall freak owning a full scale go kart Astra VXR. lol Thanks in advance |
I would think HPI or Tamiya
Good luck |
Protoform used to make an Opel Calibra and a Vauxhall Vectra. I'll see if I can find part numbers...

I have never seen a Corsa shell for hobby-grade RC cars, so perhaps they were toy cars or special paintjobs on another type of shell that they were running. (Actually, there might be Corsa shells for the Mardave cars but they tend to be pretty unrealistic).
HPI used to make an Astra Coupe from the BTCC days. Tamiya made Cavalier/Vectra shells from the mid-90s BTCC/JTCC era. Protoform did the Astra and Vectra too. You might find them on eBay or in old shop stock. |

Those Corsa VXR's you saw were Tamiya demo cars. Vauxhall had Tamiya commissioned for their Have-A-Go cars that were used at various corporate days (I think they were based on the Tamiya M03), and were available to buy as part of an XB RTR RTR M03 retails in modelshops for around £150).
Tamiya were also commissioned to do an Astra Sportshatch and Vectra VXR in 190mm for the displays at BTCC meetings, I grabbed this pic: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5216/sdc10433f.jpg Like the Astra and the Corsa, they are moulded from one-colour plastic, then all the colouring is decals. http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/1...4281698569.jpg http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/616...4281708854.jpg Vauxhall might have some left over from their BTCC days, best get in touch with their marketing/merchandising department. |
