Default Inexpensive Power Supply Question

I am not new the car scene, but since I am merely a hobbyist, I do not know the best products to purchase. I currently have a Duratrax Digital Peak Charger. The problem is that while connected to the AC outlet, it cannot go beyond 3 amps. It can go to 5 amps with an external power supply. I don't need an expensive one. I just want to find a power supply that will function and not blow up.

Any information will be appreciated!
