Default 7.5 boosted

Ok guys I'm getting my 5 yr old in the hobby so test and tune for my car is pretty much out the window. I'll be running boosted mild mod motor but not sure if I'm close. Here's what I got:
-Novak Ballistic 7.5 w/40 deg motor timing
-Mode#2 profile 6
-Mode#3 profile 6
-112 spur 29 pinion=7.72 FDR
-Outdoor asphalt 100'+ long 50'+ wide.
Note: I haven't ran this yet.

Any pointers would be great.

Are you running a stock spec or tc spec? And id lower your motor timing a bunch, you dont need a lot for mod. like 15-20* maybe

Heres my track

About 80m straight and after 8 minutes I have esc at 90C and motor 80C
Motor is a LRP x12 8.5T with 000 insert
Esc SXX V2 not the TC version
83/25
settings 1360

Can the motor/esc run ok with these temps?

I am/have mounted a fan now and am thinking about changing to the TC version

That temp is fine for the motor, but probably a little warm for the esc. Put the fan on the esc, and see how much temp it knocks off. Your probably fine if it stays under 80*C.

I have made up a fan holder, its the non TC model so doesn't have the cooling fins and place for the fan....

This esc

OR is there a set I can buy, cooling fins, heatsink paste/tape and add them or does the case of the TC spec hold down the cooling fins

Something like this anyone know of other types from other brands maybe

thermal glue on the bay... where do I get a good heatsink that fits then? The Ko one?

16.4 was the testing version of the current 3.0 software. I would recommend switching to the current 3.0 for off-road or 4.0 for on-road.
