LRP X12 10.5
On a fast track with a semi technical part, what would be a good settings to start with using an X12 10.5 in boosted class, and also a starting fdr ? Book says start at 7.5 fdr, to me that sounds like a mod setting not sure, I have never raced this class before.

Been playing around with settings for x12 13.5. I'v run 5.0 - 5.6 and I must say that punch only increased a tad and temps were all around 80-90 which is perfect for my liking. 3371
Fellow friend, who also is on here runs 5.6 and boost on 11! And his temps only went to 65 with an LRP fan. I wonder what the core temp was? He wasn't any faster in any sections of the track speedwise but he is a better driver being .2 sec faster than me.
I still qualified 2nd overall and him 4th but he had to qualify in the Heat before me so he had to deal with traffic.
So if you use a fan it seems you can use some really high settings but I'm really worried that it covers up core temps of the motor.
If yah want a good race and race with some of the top people in the UK midlands come on out to Ardent. Challenge the fastest laps and try to do 23 laps!

I have the sxx v2 and need a starting setup for 17.5 blinky for a small track about 60x40, did go through quite a few pages but didn't get a starting setup, any help will be appreciated.

It'd be good to know the motor. For my Dads car I started him at 4.0 and told him to play with timing. He's not good at changing pinions when I'm not around. I even spoke to and HPI guy and he said that should be good.

stock spec or tc??
I am looking for a little advice. I want to run both 1/12 scale 1 cell 13.5 with boost and touring car 2 cell with boost either 13.5 or 17.5 to start. I want to buy one esc that will work with both cars for now and in time buy a second esc for the other car. I don't see running mod TC anytime soon or at all. So the big question is what esc do I get that will work best for both.
Thanks for your input.

I ran 5.6 FDR and only laid down two fast laps in the A Heat and came in last out of 8...still faster than all those in the B tho. It's just too punchy. Switched to 5.1 and im right back up to 3rd in the heat. Tho the car felt sluggish it didn't show it in my lap times. It was smooth as butter and I like the ability to pull full throttle and the tyres don't lose traction. Also the ramping it does is quite cool. With this ESC you feel like you are going slow but when next to the Tekins I'm no slower.
5.2 I think might be the best. I didnt try it tonight. Oh, another rule of mine...if you have to run a fan to keep temps down you're not geared correctly. For any track with LrP x12 13.5, SSV2 and good batteries I always start at 5.0fdr and 3331 for small tracks and 3351 for large tracks. I drive quite smooth and dont crash much so when I run 3371 it could be why my temps are low. I also do lots of maintenance on my car too.
Charging at high amps helps punch ALOT too. I do 7-10amps to 8.44 (BRCA max). You would not believe the difference!

the BRCA max voltage is 8.40v, and they are quite strict on that at National events, so if you plan on doing any Nationals, then I'd advise you to back your charger off a little!
Rule 3.9 LiPo/LiFe batteries may be charged to a maximum of:-
2S Batteries may be charged to a maximum of 8.40v (LiPo) resp. 7.40v (LiFe).
1S Batteries may be charged to a maximum of 4.20v (LiPo) resp. 3.70v (LiFe).
