Wel done Mike! To get into that top heat you know you did very well. I'd say last night was the most 'good drivers' that I have seen for a while at Ardent. It must of been due to the rainy weather.

So, I see you have your numbers even lower than I had remembered. 3 on Boost huh? Hmm...I might try that next time I race to see what it feels like. Shame i could not connect your esc. The best way to find out is to run 5.0 FDR and watch your temps very closely. I can help you with that.

Ian P. ran his car on 3.7 FDR for non boosted class a while ago. He said each time he put a larger pinion on his punch increased. I think it was an x12 motor. 5.0 seems crazy but if yah got 4.4 it will tell you if you have it. Just temp it at 3 4 5 and 6. We forget that we do a 30sec to 1min warmup.

Mike, just read the trouble shooting guide for the LRP USB bridge updater.

It says that if your capacitor has any charge in it, it will not connect. That must if been the problem!

For X12 motors using 4dot insert.

3331 FDR 5.0-5.5
If temps in check go to 3351
If temps still in check 3371.

Hope that helps.

Technical track with lots of tight corners I wil do 3251 and if motor heat is a problem I will do 3231. Some tracks the straight might be long but the infield is so technical that speed plays no part in the race. It's being smooth and hitting the apex perfect that gets you those fast lap times. Go slow to go fast!

Some even gear around 6.0 mark but after last night I'm staying with 5.0. If you are NOT on 4.4 mapping you run a chance of burning up your motor.

Just saw that you wrote "SP". I guess you mean Speed Passion. Follow directions in the manual initially. You should come off quite cool. Try FDR of 6.5ish That should be good starting point.

Start on the low setting that they recommend for all other motors and go up from there. With this speed control even the low settings are fast!

Yeah I've set 'Feel' on 6 and 'Boost' on 7 and geared at 6.0 as per the manual. Think I may have to drop a pinion or two and add boost for the straight ?

I've run it with the X12 but can't get on with them, don't like the way car feels

How are you guys going on large tracks such as 1/8th gas size with top end speed. I found it is very good on small to med/large tracks but when getting to the really big tracks it lacks top end

That could work! Also you can play around with the timing on the motor. Usually, I have reduced timing on motor, added more teeth to pinion and reduced boost.
You would be doing opposite. Increase timing on motor, increase boost and drop teeth in the pinion.

I've always found the SP motors need to have their timing up. That's how I run it with a GM speedo. I'll try it tomoorow with the timing up.

That's when you need to gear up. Add a few teeth to the pinion or like me I went from 27/112 on a Tekin to what I run now 39t pinion and 102 spur on the LRP.

Or add some timing to the motor.

There's so much you can do to go fast. Track time is what you need. LRP is bril! Pull over on the track adjust the speedo with car on and your back off!

I constantly suffered with this James... And 'gearing up' just caused mine to cog even worse.

I have some settings you could try when using it with an X12, which should give some great top end... but you risk the cogging and I struggled making 6min runtime.

Cogging with what settings? Motor? Would like to know as I am unaware of Cogging issues with the new V2.

When you say struggled to make 6min run time, what was the struggle, getting too hot, battery power?
