The results should be up tonight. The weather really threw everything off. On Saturday, some areas around the track received 8 inches of rain, in a couple of hours. I know Jarrod has a fair amount more photos to post too. The racing was good, inbetween the rain delays. On top of the rain, it was very hot and humid.
Most notable were a few locals that made the A in mod. Of course Paul Wynn is always fast, but slotting into 3rd, is very good. New NORRCA National champ Furman Walker also qualified his (Mi2) in the A as well as Mike Dobbs ( Xray ).
Thanks goes out to Jorge and his crew for putting o nthis race, even though Hurrican Charlie had ravaged the area jsut a week before.
The local town of Kissimmee was hit pretty hard. When driving to the track, it was evident that the storm was powerfull, as all the power poles,at least a hundred of them, were snapped in half like twigs. I do not think many signs for the local businesses survived the wind either, most of them were blown out. From the drivers stand, you could see a hangar halve way collapsed.
More to come, we would have more day to day reporting, but the weather really put a stop to that.
