Keven, What is the status of a new Associated 1/12 scale car?

We've been seeing prototypes tested at big races worldwide.

Default New Whip?

I've never seen this battery placement.
Is this in production?

Keven,

What wire gauge do you run on your 1/12th scale modified class car?

Thanks,

Hey Kev,
I noticed some guys remove certain screws from the top deck and bottom of the chassis to create more flex. Which screws are ok to remove?

Also, what are the effect of removing screws on the top deck as opposed to the chassis. Also front screws opposed to rear screws?

Keven,

For running 17.5 boost, 17.5 no boost, and mod, which LRP ESC would you suggest? Stock Spec v2 or TC v2?

Hi,

We have been running this configuration since snowbird back at the end of january ! It seems to work very good but this is just rough prototype. At this point it is too early to say any release date or anything but something we are working on.

I like 14 gauge the best ! With 16 gauge, it seems to heat even more and give me less run time in mod. Hope this helps.

Hi, we used to do it more on the tc5 ! the the more screw you take out in the rear the more rear traction you will have to a certain extend and vice versa. On the tc6, the only screw we play with is the one on the top deck where the spur gear mount is.

you best bet right now would be the SXX stock spec V2 ! in modified you can run it on on 0-0 ore 1-1 on the feel and boost ! not any higher.

I have been running the LRP x12 17.5 in all my cars when running stock classes with great success. Very good balace of torq and top end and is very durable as well.

Hey Keven,
Thanks for your reply! What do you do if anything to make sure your 1/12th scale car comes in at weight? Do you run ballast? How is the stock left to right bias of the 12R5? Also what is the front to rear distri ution of the new associated prototype versus the regular 12R5? I am interested as I am considering gettine one seeing how you handily beat the field back in august.

Cheers,
kevikevtmc

Hi, Usualy my 1/12 is at weight without any led weight or 7 to 14 grams. It seems like left to right is very good out od the box depending on what electronics you run but it should be close. As for front to rear i am really not sure I know on the new car it has more weight on the front but can,t say any measurement for sure. Hope this helps
