Hi Keven,

Ye correct. The holes are too far apart on the chassis. The mounts on the servo mounts are also too far apart.

The servo comes with a mounting plate. Should I glue the servo to that and go from there?

Thanks

Hi Keven,

Great to see you at RROC and even better to here you are confirmed for AOC! Will you be coming up to Sydney after the race like you said?

I was wondering if you could share your Flow settings and gearing from RROC with the Reedy 4.5?

In some case in touring car when running 64p I run CRC pinions and Panaracer spur gear or AE works good as well. And outdoor I run 48 for the most part so AE spur and AE pinion and in 1/12 I run CRC pinions they are working great.

Hi Craig ! It was good to see you there too, hope you had a good time. Plan changed a little and I will stay a few extra days after the race but I will be staying in melbourne. Wish I could go to sydney for a few but I had nobody to go with after some last minut change.

At Reedy, I beleive I ran 8.15 gear ratio with a 4.5 with about 20-25 degree timing ! I was using very little boost in the esc.

Hey Keven,

I'm from New Zealand,

I am wanting to know what setup advice can you give me when running a R5.2 on a bumpy med/high traction asphalt?

Right now I club race on smooth med traction asphalt and I am using Rick Howharts worlds setup and it has been awesome! Just not sure what I should change first.

By the way we aren't allowed to use traction compound so I use Jaco purple fronts and Jaco pink rears. Is this a good tyre choice?

This particular track I am going to race on is quite large and open to cater for 1/8 scale gas cars. I've got an LRP Flow with Reedy sonic Mach 2 5.0 turn. What gearing and settings would you use? Would a 4.0 turn be a better choice?

Any help will be much appreciated

Cheers

Hello. I was curious as to what adding a 1 mil shim on the inside of the front arm mounts does. I assume it makes the front end more stable and gives more mid corner steering (on high bite).

Thanks

Default TC6 FDR and min/max toothcount

Do these work for this car?
3,51 72/41 113
4,00 72/36 108
4,11 72/35 107
4,24 72/34 106
4,36 72/33 105
4,50 72/32 104
If not than which do?

Min toothcount is 102?
Max toothcount is 115?
If not, than what is?

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. I am not sure if I am understanding right. Outdoor I run Associated spur 48 pitch and associated pinions and indoor I run associated spur and crc pinions. Also leespeed makes a good spur gear and pinions and kimbrough also has sput that fits directly as small as 72.

Unfortunately I am really not sure what the minimum tooth count for the car is, I know an 88 sput and 45 pinion will vit but I am really not sure about how small you can go sorry. You can get any final drive as low as 3.0 if need be.

Hi Kevin,

If the track is big, I would for sure go to a higher wind motor to start. I am sure you can get good speed out of the 5.0 but I beleive the 4.0 would be more suitable if power is an issue. On carpet, I run 25/96 on fairly small track and 41.5mm tires with the following esc setting (V5.0 Stock version) 6/2/0/1/2/3/0 with a 3.5 if that helps.

For a bigger track outdoor I would try for a 4.0 27/96 with the same esc setting and see how it works. If you want to keep the stock software in esc 1.4 I beleive it is then I would go with following setting : 5/3/0/5/5/2/0

Now for setup, I would think the setup tyou are running is a good place to start. and tires are ok but you could try a magenta front for more steering if need be. The other option is to play with the weight distribution of the car considering you are not running on high bite, the sideway batttery might be an option as well to put more weight in the back of the car and gaining more steering.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Kellen,

Is this for 1/12 or touring ? In both case the result will be similar. It will make the car easier to drive getting into the corner and then in the middle of the corner you might gain some more steering middle out as the front end will pull the car out of the turn ( this mainly for Touring car) this usualy works well on high bit tracks.

Hope this helps

Thank you Kevin that's what i figured it did I was talking about touring car. Do you guys dremel the spur gear bulkhead on the tc6.1 wc? It seems like it pushes up against the top deck.

Thank you Keven!

What motor timing do you run in 1/12th?

What do I have to get to run battery sideways in R5.2?

Thanks again

Kevin

Hi,

I have seen some hitting the top deck and some were ok I have done it it the past when when running outdoor but I thought that indoor it made my car too soft and I have run with the button head screws the last few carpet races.

Hi Kevin,

I have run about 27-30 degree on my motor but I have been running the sonic not the mach 2 simply because I havent had a chance to try and test the mach 2 in 1/12. I would think with the mach too I would start with a milder timing around 15-20.

Keven
