I would guess Blackstock since Xray is no longer listed in his signature.

Default main drive belt jumping

New to RDX - I have the latest carpet spec car and I need some advice please. Ive been experiencing the main belt "fliping" over and so have tried altering tension with no luck. I also replaced belt but the replacement was very out of shape so havent returned it yet. Anyone else had issues (my aplogies if this has been spoken of before)

Thanks.

Are you altering belt tension at the spur gear assembly or by lowering the pulley on the belt drive tower at the front? Running stock/19T/mod?

Most RDXs I have looked at run the lowest pulley position in the front (pulley sometimes shimmed out from the tower) and the middle position for the spur gear shaft in the rear bulkheads.

And, yes...I have had a bad front belt or two.

Did Toso leave or something? A larger (more talkative) pro team would be cool.

Pretty sure Toso's stayin' put. I think Corally just wants to expand its modified carpet team by adding a world-class racer.

I heard one of their Stock/19T racers left Corally to go to Xray. True? I wont say the name as to not start any rumors.

mx4.....I see you are in CT. Where do you race? If you want to come over to Speedzone in Rocky Hill either Tuesday or Thursday next week I will be happy to help you with your car. I have been running RDX's since March of 2005 and can help you with set ups and issues. As far as the belt flipping....has your battery slid into it? Once the belt on an RDX flips once, it has been my experience that it will continue to do so. Check your tensioners, and if it continues to flip replace it. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

i have had a belt flip but i fixed it and hasnt done it since. i have also seen people put the front diff in wrong so the belt is at a slight angle and then it flips during the run. check to see how you mounted the front diff in the car and if the pulley is on the correct side of the car becuase one outdrive is slighty longer than the other...

Default belt flip

Thanks to everyone who has repsonded. The cells did cause it the first time. I race at RC Madness so will check with guys and Girls there too. A number of great drivers use or have used the car. Diffs are in correct, I had many cars over 18 years and never experienced this kind of issues luckily. I thought it might be front diff but its good. The spur pulley is still good too. It may have been a fluke thing. Im going to get a new belt in there that isnt warped like the one I got and see what happens. The RDX is great to drive, Ive even managed TQ the very same week as belt flipped on me but in main it happened again. Thats Racing I have learnt. Keep up the great posts on the RDX guys and girls................

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
