Do you guys find yourselves needing to tighten your front diff frequently? Mine seems to back off a bit every few races. It got better for a while after I replaced the diff half with the tab in it, but it seems to be happening again. The rear diff never has this trouble.

I guess I should ask for a few of those tabs on my next order.

syndr0me, You may need to replace your diff bolt...as the problems you are having usually start on the old diff bolts before they break.

I was just going to say the same thing. It happened to me last week!

I ran 6 packs through the car tonight (in practice) and didn't break a thing. I didn't hit much either, aside from taking a few turns too tight, but front impacts just disappear into the wonderful bumper. We'll see how things go tomorrow night during club racing, but so far, I've had much better luck with the softer arms up front.

What do you guys do about replacing bearings? Do you just buy more Corally bearings? I bought a ceramic kit from ACER, and they didn't hold up well at all. All the bearings in the outside of the hubs died after a couple of months, and the larger bearings the diffs ride on are starting to suffer as well. I had much better luck with the stock bearings. I cleaned and oiled both religiously, but those damn ceramics, while smooth, are terribly delicate. I'm probably due for another set to replace those suffering and have a few spares on hand.
I use the stock Corally Bearings except I get the Much More Racing wheel axel bearings only because I get them cheaper...I do have the Speedtech ceramics and only have the diff outdrive and layshaft bearing left in one of my RDX's as like you said the wheel axel bearings wear out in a hurry. Not had a problem with the Diff or layshaft bearings being Ceramic. I find the stock bearings in my other RDX are just as smooth as my Ceramics its just that the Ceramics last longer.

Sure thing, I think some of the fastest cars on the track in the rubber classes were RDX's. I'll make sure to grab the setup for you and post it here. This was a a very high traction event, so it might be a little bit different than yoru track.

CustomWorksKing - Sorry I missed your post a while back.

Yea - I've been meaning to make it up to Springfield and race with you guys. Right now I've got all that I can handle down here in St Louis. Scott Lucas told me about your track. He has been racing up there with you guys I believe. We've usually got some great racing down here with Drew Ellis , Skip Starkey, Jimmy Piersol, Larry Stone, Steve Smith, etc... It's actually an accomplishment to make the A and perform well. Fortunately, my Corally is doing well against all the non-factory XRay's.

We've got a big race this weekend (Memorial race) with factory support (a bunch of Drew's sponsors) and plenty of door prices. Check out our thread. Hope you can make it down here some time (if you guys want to race this weekend - come on down, it's a 2 day race).

This weekend I'll be trying out the 6 degree hub carriers and 4.0mm chassis.

Dang, I'm using the new bolts in both diffs. I haven't heard about the new bolts failing, so hopefully it's not -that-. :-(

Thanks for the bearing info. Glad to know I'm not the only one that blazed through expensive ceramics. Le sigh.

It's either that or you might have collapsed washers behind the bolt...that's all I can think of.

Oooh, would that cause it to back out you think? Last time I built it, they did look a little flatter than usual. I think I've got some new ones I can throw in there.
