Hi Turbo Joe... congrats again for the 2nd place finish at TCS...

Maybe one of these days I'll ask Charlie(OC Circuit) a favor and let me run this car with the sportsman guys just for the heck of it... I usually run pro stock but dang, it'll be scary running this car at that level...

TCS is is just around the corner. Anyone knows where I can get setup tips or on how to prep a box stock TT-01 for TCS races.

There's a thread in the rookie zone called "Does the TT-01 have potential?".
In that thread, we have a few lengthy discussions of how to get the TT01 running.

However, I can share my experience with you. If the car is bone stock, get the following:
-CVA oil shocks
-Ball bearings
-Carbon fiber upper frame
-Type B or Type A Tamiya tires (if running GT2)
-Onroad tuned springs

That's if you're running the silver can or possibly the Tamiya black can.
Ball diff and one-way would also help too, but they're expensive and change handling quite a bit (atleast the one-way does).

There are more upgrades you could get later on. I'll get into that later.

Does the CF upper deck help a lot?

By the way, some people say that the stabilizer bar goes on top of the cf upper deck, but the tamiya manual shows it goes on the front of the diff...so, what's the difference?

I would add the aluminum drive shaft to that list... That thing seems to flex by merely looking at it wrong!!

I would... for 7 bucks it makes the drivetrain more efficient, so you can get more out of that silver can. Opinions may vary, of course....

TT01 is shy to hang around with TRF415, BD, Cyclone, ..... its not fair.

However TT01 is build strong for bashing and competitive enough to complete even demanding race. We have two hours endurance racing for TT01 and M03/L chassis only. Tamiya Sport Tuned and Stock 23RZ are popular choice of motor during the race. My car survived three times of Enduro racing I decided to overhaul almost everything to keep it race ready. On 18 December I have endurance race ( 2 hr ) & sprint race ( 6 x 10 min ) again.

I'll show you some TT01 photos tonight. I'm still in office.

The tt01 benefits from an efficient drive train compared to a tl01. It surely isn't up to par with a 415 but its a good kit. For stock races, it will be a good enough car. I'll be racing in a TT01 only stock class so I've got no problems with other cars racing against me

Like it says. I like the spec aspect of racing the TCS series of racing. I wanna stay within the rules. So whats the top five racing hopups for the TT01? Here's my list:
1.Better servo faster/ more torque
2. Bearing kit
3. Race springs
4. Aluminum shaft
5. Ball diff's if you wanna spend the $$

I'm sure there are other list.... I'd like to get some feedback.

this is what i used in spec previously. the numbers are just for organization not necessarily for order of importance.

1.) bearings are important
2.) the oil filled dampers but use the mini short touring car springs
3.) the adjustable camber arm set
4.) get adjustable turnbuckles for the steering so u can set front toe
5.) aluminum shaft
6.) 55T speed tuned gear set w/ tamiya 27T pinion
7.) the rear toe-in uprights
8.) the lower arms from the tt01r, they have droop screws so u can do more tuning
9.) maybe the aluminum motor mount. just my preference cuz i prefer to have a stronger piece holding the motor.

i don't remember if there is a ball diff option. i used a heavier grease in the front and a slightly lighter one in the rear. tcs also doesn't allow the ball bearing steering hop-up so just make sure all the steering/servo linkages are not binding but doesn't have too much slop. other than these items make sure you clean your motor well and have a blast.

i LOVE my TT-01, its basically stock apart from the prop shaft and ball bearings.

its built like a tank, and its simple enough to nothing goes wrong with it, and if something does go wrong, its quick to see what it is.
