Default on-road track lay outs

has anyone seen information on planning a on-road track lay out? or does everyone just wing it? as far as size and complexity? ty

just map out the space you have on some paper in maybe 1'' by 1'' squares that represent 1 sq. foot and then just wing it, if you want a more complexe type of track or you want a simple track, fast track or slow just kind of brainstorm

got that, was leaning towards black-top out doors, thinking about materials, prep, and all the stuff that goes with it, ty
