What carpet are they using in the EU
Looking at the reports on Redrc I saw a picture of the carpet that they are racing on during the ETS event taking place in the Czech Republic. What carpet are they racing on - doesn't look like ozite.
Is it better for traction? Does it help/hurt with tire wear?
Can any of your EU friends chime-in here? Very curious.

Sorry, I don't know what kind it is, just had to comment that it looks like Corduroy fabric that I used to wear 15-20 years ago.

here in the UK we use either Prima Felt GT or Duo carpet, the carpet from the ETS looks different from that slightly though.

Hi,
this kind of carpet is called "Rips" and itīs very cheap, arround 2,00 Euro per square meter.
It last very long if you glue it complete. For "one weekend races" itīs possible to fix it only with tape.
Normaly it will be used for fairs etc. where use only for some days.
Here in Germany itīs very popular for RC-Indoor-Racing.
The grip level is always o.k. and stable.

I've even seen this carpet as low as 1,5 euro per square meter. I bought some a few years ago to build a mini Z track. Event with such a small scalle the tiny ribs were not a problem ie the grip is homogenous no matter what angle/direction the car is from the ribs. If my previous sentence is not understandable I can rephrase it.
Anyway it's a very good choice considering the price of Ozite.
