New to the hobby, need advice.
 

Hello, my name's Dakota.
I'm new to the hobby, and plan on being here for a while.
I just recently purchased a 1/16 e-revo VXL.
Shortly after, I had the whole thing torn apart, and rebuilt.
Just to understand it a bit more.
Which made me want to build my own.
So, I've been looking at touring car kits, but I'm not exactly sure what I should get.
I mostly plan on running it outside on my street, and maybe racing a few friends of mine in parking lots and such things.
So, I'm looking for a good chassis that will hold up to the abuse of small pebbles, and such.
I'm also curious as to what would be the right motor/esc for said project.

If that is all you will ever do with it....I would look on here for a good used xray chassis. They are top-notch racer quality and can take a beating. You may have to toss in a few parts here and there, but you will have a tough toy when you get done.

I really think a Team Associated TC4 would be best for you. The tub chassis is great for unprepared surfaces. The only thing is that they don't make new kits anymore and you'd have to buy one used. You can still get plenty of parts for them, and they more than capable of holding their own on the track.

What sort of KV should I be looking at as far as a motor?
I've been looking at Castle Creations, with no idea what to get.

hey at my small club in australia there is a guy that can NOT drive at all and he crashes all the time... We set up a small track indoors and use small car tyres to mark the turns and he hits them that hard they move heaps and he just puts another battery pack in his car and drives again and again.... He uses a xray t2 and flogs it so I cant see you breaking one of them lol...:D

There is a couple of tc4 kits brand new on ebay for sale just so you know :D:sneaky:
