Default Novak GTB 2 Sportsman ESC

New from Novak the GTB 2 Sportsman Racing Brushless ESC

http://www.teamnovak.com/products/esc/gtb_2/index.html

Quote from www.bigsquidrc.com
"First up is the GTB 2 Sportsman Racing Brushless ESC. It’s designed for the entry-level racer, with all the bells and whistles but without any of the PC adjustments. The idea being, it’s perfect for spec racing because you don’t have to worry about drivers being able to mess with the settings. Anything to help make it more fair for new people to the hobby, we are all for!"

Great to see novak new improvement and adaptation,

it's been so long ago with novak, now it's just back again with it's GTB version2

i thought it would be like Kinetic,

is this allowed to use the brushed ?

(-) Too bad , mostly like the Dynamic Timing Advance.
but GTB2 say No!.

(+) Temp build in information, ("how to read this") with no PC / Card / Novalink ?

Useless Technology, better back With Novak Kinetic.
we dont feel any connection with GTB2,....

According to their website, street price will be around $100. The targeted crowd is Sporstman Racers who don't need the bells and whistles of a Kinetic.

Not sure how that qualifies it as "useless technology."

I wonder if the normal GTB would outperform this one?

The GTB 2 will have the same on-resistance (same MOSFETs=0.00040ohms) and motor limit (3.5T) as the original GTB. We want to keep an under 100.00 esc in our line as an affordable, non-timing option for those racers in the Sportsman/Spec divisions.

If you want dynamic timing, we have the Havoc Pro SC and the new Kinetics. This GTB 2 incorporates new features and the additional on-board programming options we have developed. A full-featured spec racing controller at an entry-level price. We will incorporate this re-designed GTB 2 into our exchange/upgrade program as an option for Novak customers returning original GTBs for non-warranty replacement.

Well I am sold on this one. My original GTB sans lipo-cutoff is now four years old and has worked flawlessly every time. I even accidentally reversed polarity hooking up my battery and all that happened was a wrecked trans-cap module, the cap didn't even pop.
$99 GTB 2, just what I was looking for.
Thanks Novak

We are in the process of shipping our on-line store orders for the GTB2s; then we will be shipping our distributor pre-orders.

Under the "old rules", there should have been no difference between the performance of our original GTBs and the Sportsman Modes of the dynamic timing escs.

And, we saw how well that worked out....

We will change our store "Pre-Order" status once we begin shipping to distributors and they have inventory. Once a product is distributed, most of our on-line store orders are shipped by our network of hobby dealers all over the country---not us.

A GTB2 is really good news. I can't figure out what the difference is between this new esc and the Havoc Pro.

I'm considering one of these systems for racing with my 2WD buggy. Which of these esc's will be my best option?
