Shane will get the pics up when he gets to it. The guy's got a job, and a life outside of RCTech. Give him a break.

Give the guy a break guys. He's nice enough to take time and post the results and such, and has the best coverage. Give him some time, he'll get 'em up when he has some time!

Believe me, it takes a heckuva lot longer than 45 minutes.

I start with a bunch of raw text results for the mains and qualifying, and in this case, around 800 unsorted photos. So basically, putting together a race coverage ensemble goes something like:

1) Create the initial pages and format them
2) Write an intro and support text
3) Create the headline graphic
4) Sort through all the photos and categorize them
5) Determine which photos to use
6) Resize photos into two sets and add logo
7) Rename photos
8) Create page structure for photo pages
9) Create track collage
10) Enter all sponsor data
11) Format A mains and sponsors for cover page
12) Format lower mains for next page
13) Format qualifying data for next page
14) Enter and caption all photos (184 in this case)
15) Link all child pages together
16) Finish and double check scripting
17) Link coverage to event and main pages
18) Upload!

Right now I am just getting to #12. I would guess that the entire process is an 8-10 hour job, depending on the number of photos and how weird the results text looks. I've created a few tools to automate the process but it's still time consuming.

Unfortunately, between my many jobs I am working 14+ hour days right now, and my time devotion to the site is suffering. I am trying to pick things up though, and get this done so I can move on to other tasks.

I'll be there, trying to get Derek to come down. He leaves for Sweden on Monday. He gets to go to Sweden and I get to handle a ship week without him -- suck! haha

Shane,

I think you need to look into hiring a personal assitant. Either one that can type for you or work on the r/c stuff and you will be all set.

Shane, it was nice to finally meet you at the nats. You seemed extremely busy.

Brian: Wish I could hire somebody. Barely make enough to get by right now, and certainly make nothing on this site! Just trying to keep everything going at the moment.

Neil: Was nice to meet you too! Busy didn't even begin to describe it. So far behind in everything...

literw2: I do type pretty fast, considering that I don't touch type. I pretty much use 2-3 fingers and that's it. Been doing it for so long that I guess I mastered my own style! haha

At least it was an all expense paid trip. Or was it?
