microrcdude: They do this race every year, but at a different venue in different parts of the country.

johnbull: Mark runs Losi cars.

More controversy; the race directors didn't post the frequencies beforehand, so nearly every race so far has resulted in a long delay and a lot of shouting while people realize they are all on the same frequency. For some reason there is a guy walking around with a clipboard that has frequencies on it, but they are not posted. Go figure.

They also decided to start calling penalties, AFTER that first Stock race, prompting calls that the race should be re-run. I doubt that will happen.

Brushless is running right now, Modified TC is up next.
With all these organisational cock ups it sounds like an amateur club race to me.

I hope these guys are not going to be running the Worlds!!!!!!!

Great work Shane.

I bet you never thought you'd have guys on the other side of the planet following it all on rctech.

How can they NOT post the frequency list? That just seems completely inconceivable to me. Are people supposed to guess if there's anyone on their frequency? insane

According to the race director when Lopez was wondering, "well, we made an announcement this morning." haha

Second round of As is just about to begin.

I decided to try and run my mains today, despite missing qualifying. Big mistake! I broke in both of them, one was a car failure and the other was just my being horrible. If anybody had any doubt before that I suck, now it's erased! heh

I couldn't even true my motors, I got here and my lathe bit had broken. Along with my pit light. One thing after another... depressing weekend for me personally, but glad everybody is enjoying the coverage! That's what I'm here for.

Matt,

Some national events and other big races have stopped posting frequencies to avoid potential sabotage. The last big race I went to, it was announced and we all knew we were supposed to go check with the frequency control/radio impound guy prior to our race. The problem with this is that people don't hear the announcement, don't listen, don't think some stuff applies to them and count on things always being the same, or at events like this, some people spend time elsewhere like their hotel room or sightseeing when they are not racing.

I kind of think this is a good idea. I have been to way too many big races and heard people say "so and so turned their radio on". It is definitely welcome in 1/8 onroad when we have $3000 wrapped up in our cars and it really sucks to have a runaway. I can also see it being desired at an event like this too since there is a national title on the line and it does tend to make people act funny.
