Pressing bushings back into stock motor

Pressing bushings back into stock motor
I am trying to change both bushings on some Monster stock motors.
So far, I don't think much of the results...Using a large size metal drift with a 3/8" flat end has just scarred up the face of the new bushing while inserting it into the can.
Is there a special tool or should I revert to a wood dowel or something?
Many thanks.

That's what I call a specialty tool.

I just flip a screw driver upside down and knock the end with a hammer, just put a piece of paper towel doubled over a few times in between the handle of the screw driver and the bushing and it'll work fine.

What you are describing is probably what I would have resorted to; however, the fussybrush tool was too good to resist. Ordered one of the installers for myself and another for a friend.
Many thanks.
