Overgear:
Nice pics, thanks.
So the S shocks are shorter than the original zero shocks?
Or just the springs?

How on Earth did you tighten the motor down without the new motor mount and that spur/pinion combo?

i only tighten the motor screw toward the front. the rear one, i tighten just enough that i can slide the motor front/back with my bare hand. Use thread lock. so far so good.

Just got back from the track. Car ran great. Car would spin like a top at the end of the straight, no rear traction. Adjusted using different springs. I only had some longer spings with me so tried those, in the end I was right on pace with the other drivers. I did had problems traction rolling. I am waiting for my 3racing shocks and spring kit, hopefully they will help. I am so happy with the car that I am going to get another for my VTA. I am using the narrow lipo chassis.
Can't wait fo some people who know how to setup a car to help.

I did the same thing as overgear to get the motor in. But I got I everything in the right place, removed the spur and pinion, tightened the motor down, put the spur back in place and then slid the pinion into the right place. Thankfully the new motor mount will be here in a week.

Is the only way to remove the spur to take off the 8 srcews holding on the top deck and pull it up?

I dremeled a hole in my spur, just big enough for my hex driver to go through.
Take a look at the photo. it's kinda shoddy work but I was in a rush to get the car running it works well though, was able to tighten the motor screw properly. Note that i'm running a 106t 64p spur, which is about the same size as the original 80t 48p spur included in the kit.

I would've thought you guys shouldn't have any problems with the original spur though. it has several large holes towards the outer part of the spur which should allow you to stick a hex driver through from the battery side. correct me if i'm wrong, I didn't try the original spur at all, just basing this on visual observations.

What motor mount are you guys talking about? I see HKS has 2 different motor mounts listed. I went to the 3R site and they have the same 2 and a third one coming out soon.

Just want to see which one will resolve the issue that is being talked about so I can make a shopping list

It's a crazy issue for any car today. To run higher turn motors, you use small spur gears. With spec cars using 21.5 or 25.5 motors, you use TINY spurs with no holes or potential space for drilling. You shouldn't have to, IMO. The stock motor mount blows chunks. Should have never been designed that way in the first place.

Makes the motor mount screws vertical instead of horizontal. A stock motor necessity unless you like unbalancing your spur gear by drilling wonky holes in them.
