as for the pinion, what's the cloest one to 38t you have in your pit box? 38t might be too big. Build the car first and see how much room u have. I think you might need a smaller spur.
LOL found the answer to my question i believe but i read the 19t pulley makes the internal ratio 2.0 correct?

yes 19t pully and 38 would make it 2.0.

I did not use a fan and I ran a 90T spur and 42T pinion with the 19T center pulleys for a FDR of 4.286.

Thank you. will yeah racing spurs fit?
Do you think 76 spur with 42 pinion @ 3.619 would be to low of a FDR. I am running 3.5 in my yokomo and the motor does not get above 150 after a 10 min main.

When is it loose? On power or off power? Corner entry or apex or exit? What is your toe, camber, ride height? What motor are you running? FDR? Track conditions?

Without more info I can only guess your car is doing what mine did when new. Go with a stiffer spring up front and a softer in the rear. Try a 5.0 in the front and a 6.0 in the rear. Adjust the droop to 2mm front and 2mm rear. This will give you a decent starting point and will hopefully start to get that drift under control.

Also be sure to check your camber and front toe with a gauge. IIRC, the manual is way off with the lengths it asks you to build the links.

As vette said, go 6.0 or even 6.5 depending on your grip level and driving style. If you dont have 3Racing springs available, try tamiya blue or yellow springs for a mini (if you have them...)

Narrowing the rear with the XI arms, or narrow blocks (XI arms are cheaper..) will also help, but check those other things first.

I have only ever run a 17.5 BL motor in my Zero. Try matching the FDR you're running in the Yokomo on the Zero and check for temps. Adjust from there.

New motor mount root for the XI, give's some more room for the pinions, has mounting holes in accessible places even with a very small spur. Its similar to the modified kit motor mount option for the S. Just like any XI motor mount, you will need to move the motor mount root hole forward 3mm to fit onto a zero/s chassis.

This is on my DH, but I do have a 2nd one on the way I will fit to my hybrid.

sir Wollow86

nice XI you have there. By the way if you have your S hybrid with the XI new motor mount please post pictures so that we would have an idea how to convert it.

I also want that new motor mount because of the spur mount that has a button screw for the top deck.

Thank you!

I currently have the original XI lower chassis on my hybrid, with the zero vertical motor mount. The only difference there is I needed to move the hole for the root arm rearward by 3mm. The opposite would be needed to run the XI motor mount (either of them) on the zero/zero s chassis. I'll snap a photo of my very shonky (almost destroyed it) job of moving the hole when I get the other new motor mount for the hybrid. Should be next week some time.

Okay thanks! I wanted to use the original motor mount of the zero but it has no screw on top of the spur carrier for the top deck. I also dont like to use the vertical motor mount for the S because of the swapping position of the belt to the other side. i also want to have a low center of gravity. Im planning to run my S in the 13.5 class.

I don't run the scews in the top deck at that position, my deck doesn't even have the holes for it. I assumed that was an XI thing (which I do run the screws on)? Because I'm using the zero bulk heads, I need to use the zero top deck (soft).

I wouldn't think the CG would be effected to much by the motor mount, seeing as the motor is still up there anyway...

But in any case there is a lot more room with the new mount. I got my pinions today, easily fit a 47 with the 60. There's a little room to spare, 50-51 should be no problem if you wanted to. I have found though that fitting anything larger then about 43 starts to get tricky, you would need to remove the top deck, and trial and error you way through motor position.
