Default Best WGT chassis

I thought I'd try WGT. Who makes the best chassis and why?

There's no best, no worst, all current chassis are race worthy, you just have to choose depending on parts and support availability at your local track.

Up here in the great white north, hobby shops are few and far between. Most local racing is club racing, so support and parts availablity are not in the equation.

So far we have not seen any one chassis with any advantages over another. It boiled down to driver skill not chassis.

The most common were AE and CRC.

Default For durability

The way to go is a Speedmerchant WGT with the old school front end. Simple, unbreakable(virtually) and performs great! All the others run a version of the newer AE Dynamic Front end with multiple moving and breakable parts.

We have never seen an AE break through the entire season of racing where typical lap times are 7 to 8 seconds. On the other hand, many CRCs have broken parts on their front end.

I've seen both the AE and the CRC cars work very well. Have NOT seen broken parts as an issue at all. The AE car has been my choice as it's very easy to setup and works very well on carpet where I race it mostly!! Either car will work fine---look for where you want to buy your parts on line-- LHS's aren't really that bid a deal anymore--- I've got a nice used roller chassis if you decide you want an AE car---$125.00 --- it's been my back-up car and after several races realize I don't need a backup car!!
FWIW
Tim

PS---you'll LOVE WGT if you can get a few racers running them!! VERY fun and easy to drive for their speed!!

just do not buy xray x10 link, its poorly developed.
front wheels has so much play,
rear axle break easily,
parts are extremely expensive
front end are hard to work with.....etc

That is just a rude response from XRay. I guess the X10 link is just a toy.

CRC from personal experience.

Why: Excellent parts and factory support. You can order directly from the CRC web page and receive parts in less than a week. The current chassis can run 2s or 1s configurations.

The same is also true of BMI although I have not driven one personally.

Serpent is the best I've WGT owned. It is fast and extremely stable, the CRC can be tuned fast but I had a hard time getting it calm. Most I know who run the AE don't carry any corner speed. What ever you do stay away from Speedmerchant, support and parts are scarce, I have personally and know people who have multiple horror stories about looooong wait times and unanswered E-mails.
