Since Dr. Power resurrected this thread, I thought I would post my Ipanema Warrior lid that I recently painted. It's nothing fancy, just a "rattle can" finish with some well placed paint mask.

We race these in Corona at HobbyTown Hobby Store parking lot off of Magnolia every third Sunday of the Month. The OC Circuit also does a race at Huntington Beach and I believe there's one more location.

Come out this weekend. We will be there racing our GT8's.

The Sweeps are great for the first 3 minutes than it seems that they loose their grip. I'm running 45s. I also use PMTs but the ground needs to be warm for those to stick in my opinion. Once they heat up, they are pretty solid. I need to find a tire that will maintain it's traction throughout the race......now that would be perfect.

A little help. This seems like it might be the best thread so far for 1/8th GT cars
Our club is getting a 1/8th GT electric class going
I dont have the full rules list yet
Looks ike everyone is getting a Ofna car.
Tekin speed Control
The big question I have is what KV motor
The track is a decent size 1/8th onroad track.
I see a lot of people in there Sig are using 2250
Do you guys race in a class with the 2250 or just parking lot playing around.
Thanks for all your help and info

There's lots of chatter about this subject.
Mine is a DM-1 Spec Tekno converted. I'm using the 2250kv you mentioned and I'm running 4S. In simplest terms, the motor's kvs will sort of dictate how many cells your lipo should have. You have to find the balance between speed and heat when deciding on your motor kv and lipo cells. I used this chart from Tekno to guide my selection. See page 3.

I hope that gets you going in the right direction......and yes, I am racing with my setup geared at 15/48. Good Luck!

I put 50Sh EXP Sweep on the GTP2E and the Temp here is around 65F so they're a bit slippery but very little wear, fun for just parking lot running on Reedy #626 4S 60C, and I have a Thunder Power G6 6S 65C I want to try with both 24T and 30T pinions but not without a logger installed so I'm waiting for the Eagle Tree V4 150A to be in stock before I go for 80+ mph.
