Default Break In- cells??

i dont have a charger that has a break in fucntion, and i was wondering if i can break in motors off cells???

if so... how many??? and for how long do i break in the motor
and do i need to do anything apart from clean it up again after that???

i race stock if that makes any difference

As you mentioned, A charger with a motor run feature or an Indi dyno or similar device is Ideal for what your trying to do .....but you can also use a 3 or 4 cell pack... most people would agree that 3 volts is considered the optimum speed for most stock motor brush break-in ....check the brushes minute to minute until all four corners of the brush are seated (shiney)or if you have serrated brushes,until all of the serrations are shiney....usually 300 seconds (give or take)will do it....the cleaning and oiling(bushings or bearings) of the motor should be done before the break-inn....cleaning after the break-in wont hurt but is usually not nesessary on a fast break-in.......how often you tru your comm and repeat this depends on how serious you are.........the first 2 to 3 runs after the re-build will be your best .........hope this helps you some

Three cells should be enough. About 2 min in length.
