My vote - Tamiya. Choose the TA04R.

But for any choice just make sure the part support is good (as ijnek mentions).

HPI - Pro 3? Gets expensive when you get stuff like threaded shocks and the top deck. ( 04R comes with both and more )

Xray T1/Corally C4.1 - Make sure u have some way to handle the pivot ball suspension

Losi/AE cars - Never had a chance to tangle 1:1 with one before.

Comparing to the Axis2 the Mission is really much much easier to work with. Better quality and works right out of the box. Other Choices are the dull, but fast TC3, XXX-S and the X-ray. All of them are fast. For outdoors, also Corally works well.

I only play tamiya cars as the parts are easier to get.

TA04R is rather a good buy as it comes with many hop up parts and the spare parts are ready available.

TB Evo2 and TRF 414M are also good for beginners if they are not that xpensive to own and if they are not limited. Feel that limited edition cars, the parts are not that ready available.

Just my views for reference

Heard a lot of people say T1 and TC3 are good also.

Xray...after building this car you will feel that the quality from all the other makes are rather lacking!! If you can't set this car then it is 'your' fault...not the car's fault!!

I have built and owned cars from your entire list (except Schumacher!) the quality of the Xray is second to none of them!

Get the mission, you won't be sorry, the fit and finish is excellent, many of the parts on your A2 will work on the mission (hubs, upper and lower arms, drive axles, spurs/ gear adaptor). I have owned or own several of the others you mention, and I must say I was only allowed to own 2 TC's they would both be missions. The 04-R is my second favorite, and the XXX-S is F-N-F (Fast-N-fragile). Just my opinion.

I have a 04R, and a Schumacher Mission as well. Love them both, but I think $ for $ the 04R gives you more of those beloved hop-up options already in the kit. Both perform very well on the track.
For example: I wish my mission came with threaded shocks instead of those clip on things that always manage to get lost. Here in the U.S, the hop up threaded bodies are $55! Ya, you can live without them, but when you lay down the $ you want to best stuff already on the car.

As for TC3, Fast handling car but very, very ,very, very fragile!
